Craig Zonca has been announced as 612 ABC Brisbane's new breakfast show host, taking over the from long-standing presenter Spencer Howson.
Zonca has more than a decade's worth of experience behind the microphone at ABC and has hosted Queensland Country Hour for the past three years.
He has also been ABC News Queensland's weather presenter for the past two years and has been part of ABC Local Radio's emergency broadcasting team.
The move comes after breakfast radio king Howson announced he was stepping down from the breakfast slot on November 17.
Zonca will begin his new role as the voice for 612 ABC Brisbane Breakfast from Monday January 30 2017.
ABC Radio Local Manager Jen Brennen said she was excited to welcome ABC's "rising talent" to the team.
"Craig has had a remarkable broadcasting career working in Local Radio in Rockhampton, Townsville, Toowoomba and Brisbane," she said.
"He brings with him a wealth of radio experience and he is trusted and well-loved by our Queensland audience.
"We're really excited about the talent and content mix on offer. It's all part of a refreshed look and sound for ABC Radio."
