This policy applies to Twitter’s paid advertising products, which are Tweets, trends and accounts.

What's the policy?

Twitter prohibits the promotion of drugs and drug paraphernalia globally. 

What products or services are subject to this policy?

This policy applies, but is not limited, to:

  • Illegal drugs, where “drugs” means a substance sold to induce unnatural euphoria, unnatural highs or lows, psychoactive effects, or altered reality
  • Substances marketed as “legal highs,” such as psilocybin mushrooms and salvia divinorum
  • All accessories related to drug use, such as bongs, pipes, vaporizers and grinders
  • Products and services furthering access to drugs, such as dispensary directories

What products or services are not subject to this policy?

This policy generally does not apply to:

  • Products made from hemp
  • Content involving drugs as a theme only, such as movies or t-shirts
  • News and information about drugs

How does this policy vary from country to country?

This policy applies to Twitter Ads in all countries.

What do advertisers need to know about this policy?

Review our guidelines and make sure you understand the requirements for your brand and business. You are responsible for all your promoted content on Twitter. This includes complying with applicable laws and regulations regarding advertisements.
