Beach Goth was an insult to the artists and the fans. Lack of organization and communication between event staff was appalling. How could you even say "Rain or Shine" if you were completely unprepared for the rain ?? All the event staff when asked about what would happen to the artists and set times were extremely rude and would dash off. The mass of people trying to get into the observatory was utterly insane when the other stage was shut down and no one was performing at th...e main stage. Not to mention the sound quality on the main stage was horrible. During UMO the speakers sounded like they were blown out and at the end for Justice's set, one of the duo even left the deck to check to see what was wrong with the speakers. This was my first Beach Goth and would clearly be my last. I demand a refund for all the cancelled performers, lack of organization, lack of communication about updated set times, and overall the worst festival experience of my life.

Beach Goth 2016 was absolute trash. This "festival" had no crowd control, violent uninformed security guards, flooding with no protection from the rain (even though the observatory said to prepare for rain and the show would go on), and it was just an overcrowded overpriced mess. The flooding caused a stage to close and people had to cross nasty rivers with port-o-potty water in them. The management should be ashamed of themselves for making the attendees go through living he...ll. They also deleted everyones comments and blocked people who were complaining on their instagram. They're crooks trying to cover everything up. I feel absolutely scammed out of my money, I wasn't able to see half the bands I wanted to due to ill preparation for the rain and overcrowding. I will not be supporting the Observatory ever again nor will I be attending Beach Goth. Unacceptable.

The venue itself was great but the staff were absolutely horrible. I'm severely handicapped. They told me I couldn't ride my electric cart in so I grabbed my cane. They told me that was considered a weapon and could not bring it in. Both of my legs gave out on me and I fell to the ground , they laughed at me and told me that I don't belong at this event. I paid $150 to get laughed at ( I was going to go today but after they way I was treated I don't want to go back) plus I had to pay an additional $30 on top of the $30 I already paid for parking because handicap parking costed more... I've never been charged more because I'm handicap who does that? I had to stand in an hour line just to go through security. Plus there was a guy crowd surfing and he feel on top of me and nothing g was done about it at all.

My biggest concern coming out of Beach Goth besides the obvious was the security team. The first day I showed up on the early side with a lot of enthusiasm but was met by a security guard who did the most thorough pat down I’ve ever experienced, comparing to several other festivals and airports. The woman searching me made gasp when she cupped my breasts and felt around my bra. She found a bag of nuts I stashed in my bra because I read about the no outside food policy the nig...ht before. I have severe stomach problems that have had me in and out of the doctor’s office for months and stressing about food would made the weekend a lot less fun if I couldn’t bring things I know I can eat. I showed them to her and explained that I have dietary restrictions. Another security guard behind me snarkily said, “Everybody has dietary restrictions.” The nuts went in the trash and I was really rubbed the wrong way by their treatment of a ticket holder. I also was completely shocked to see so many videos and written accounts of excessive force by the security team. I’m hoping people will be pressing charges against the security team.

Please find a bigger venue for next year's Beach Goth, or sell less tickets. Yesterday was a mess. I understand rain sucks, but you should have been better prepared. I was also unable to enter the Observatory at all after 5pm because of the long line not moving, so I missed some of the artists I wanted to see. I don't even want to think about what would have happened if there was an emergency inside the building and people had to be evacuated. Oh, and the sound for Justice was terrible! What the heck happened there?

Threatened to pepper spray me just for going where they told me to go. Watched them beat people up and throw them down the stairs. As a photographer, I was prevented from doing my job because they locked up the inside venue. The only way to leave the venue was to step through a river of human wastes. The didn't cover up cables which made people at risk of electorcution. They oversold and put many people at risk, never going back.

Overcrowded beach goth by thousands past their capacity and when the whole place flooded they did nothing to fix it and let people walk through the sewage/rain water and their security used too much force on people. Witnessed them kicking and punching a guy that was already on the ground subdued causing no harm. Never coming back here!

I saw a lot of negative reviews both on here & Yelp about the security guards, but being as my 1st time attending this performance venue, it wasn't too bad. I came pretty early to scope out the area. I drove around the place and there are a lot of business buildings with lots of parking spots. Their website has informed that your vehicle can be towed away if you park around there, so you had to park in their assigned concert parking area which was sort of across the street @ ...another business area you had to pay $10 for. The parking area wasn't set up when I got there, so I ended up parking at a parking lot @ a school a couple of blocks away. It turns out that I couldn't pay cash or a credit card for the parking fee there. Instead the money had to be exchanged for tokens in order to exit that school parking lot, so thankfully my friend was able to drive over and take out a ticket in order for me to drive out through the entrance so I won't be parking there anymore.

The security guards do check your bags and they do a pat down on you. They have a lot of rules in this place, but I saw people were able to bring in vapors which surprised me. I love how the rooms in the Observatory were constructed. The particular room for the band I came to see had a center-out pit, and there were higher standing areas on each side of the stage, there were also a 2nd floor where people were able to sit at a table and look down @ the stage which was also cool. Nothing major happened and everybody had a good time. Anything negative I have read about the reviews about the security guards didn't apply or happen so the place has set a good impression on me for my 1st visit. It's a great venue, just don't like the way they set up the parking.

I personally have never had any issues here. However my wife, sister and friend all went to see DK play. My sister opens a tab, the girls claim to have only had 2-3 drinks each. My wife only drank beer and all drinks came from the upstairs bar. My wife said for sure her drinks were never left unattended. The three of them were drugged (no doubt the bartender) and my sister was left with a $350+ credit charge. I urged the girls to report it to local police just in case there are other allegations against them, but they never did. My sister is a COO of a large medical company and was too embarrassed to do so.

i went for Majid Jordan on the 22nd right after beach goth and it was a mess. there was one specific person pushing in the venue and during them preforming. security was asking who it was everyone clearly pointed to him and then he "talked" to him and didn't escort him out. people from beach goth were trying to cut in line and some people who had JUST showed up around when the doors opened were also cutting since there was no gate or anything so disorganized honestly. also some of the female staff were very rude and unclear with directions i didn't like any part of arriving there as this was my first time at the venue and trying to get a sense of where to go, it was all over the place.
