Paradise is an unincorporated town and census-designated place (CDP) in Clark County, Nevada, United States, adjacent to the city of Las Vegas. The population was 223,167 at the 2010 census, making it the most populous unincorporated community in Nevada and more populous than any city in the state outside Clark County. As an unincorporated town, it is governed by the Clark County Commission with input from the Paradise Town Advisory Board. Paradise was formed on December 8, 1950.Paradise contains McCarran International Airport; the University of Nevada, Las Vegas; and most of the Las Vegas Strip. Paradise contains most tourist attractions in the Las Vegas area, excluding downtown. Despite this, the name Paradise remains relatively unknown. All Paradise ZIP codes have Las Vegas mailing addresses.HistoryThe southern part of the Las Vegas Valley was referred to as Paradise Valley as early as 1910, owing to a high water table that made the land particularly fertile for farming. County commissioners established a Paradise school district in 1914.In 1950, mayor Ernie Cragin of Las Vegas, looking to fund an ambitious building agenda and pay down the city's rising debt, sought to expand the city's tax base by annexing the Las Vegas Strip which was unincorporated territory. A group of casino executives, led by Gus Greenbaum of the Flamingo, lobbied the county commissioners for township status which would prevent the city from annexing the land without the commission's approval. The commission voted to create the unincorporated township of Paradise on December 8, 1950.

My boyfriend and I recently booked the MGM Grand through a Southwest vacation package. We arrived at 9am and to early for check in. The concierge was very nice and let us store our luggage until our room was ready. We were even able to get some clothes and swim suits to change into, before using the pool. Had I known that we would be all the way down the hall in the "old" west wing, I would have upgraded to the next rooms. The hall way was grey and looked like a prison. The room it's self, was nice. We didn't have any major issues with it. I did find a long black hair stuck in the light fixture above the toilet and I would have liked some extra towels, instead of the minimum. The room only had an ice bucket and no fridge. Again, I would have upgraded for the minibar in the next rooms. Upon check in we had a surprise hold of $300 damage deposit. As of today, it has been refunded minus the required daily resort fees. When I booked the room, it did not come with any buffet coupons. They were nice enought to comp us two free to be used during our stay. I will book a place next time that includes some, as it was $90 for us to eat at thiers! The food was okay, the desserts were better! My boyfriend did have the Alaskan King crab legs, so it wasn't too bad. The MGM Grand is on the end of the strip, so walking back and forth was a workout, but it did help that we were staying at the same place as most of the things we did. When we did check out, it was fast but they recently changed thier pick up point for Lyfts and Uber (too much $$ being lost for the taxis and the hotel). They used to pick up in front like the taxis, but now they are in the parking garage on the second floor. There is very little signage and directions on where to go, so we walked around the outside of the building for 10mins looking for it. You would think that if your guests are paying to stay with you, you would be considerate and helpful. Overall, our stay was not bad. However, after checking out some other hotels, we will be staying at a much nicer place next time.

Its cool bc its close to LV and there's no snow around LV and i need my snow for snowboarding!!! Chairs are fairly cool on speed of getting up the hill for the most part. Parking is decent and even better if you have a Subaru and get there early and you can park near the front entrance to the hill. Seating in the mini lodge is tight but it is what it is. The front patio is decent and is nice for a view of surrounding mountain tops around the area. I feel they need more of a variety of rails in the park though!!! They should have flat rail/boxes features on one side and round tube or pipe rails on the other. It would make it more friendly for riders working on their tricks in the park. Also, they need to change around the jumps in the park. They have a bigger 25-30' jump first and then have a mini like10-15' jump second which isnt safe bc your speed is too fast for the jump and will lead you to over clear the landing. I come up fairly often from LV and would like to call this my home mountain to screw off at during the winter season. Anyhow, i also think they should knock out those 2 rollers of death at the end of the upper park n the lower beginner rails and put a medium size jump there to end the park line there. Then throw up a slow sign there and have ropes to enter into the lower park for beginners, etc. Furthermore, i think they should introduce some bonk features at the top of the pyramid features or even the quarterpipe area to hop up and tap on or hop over when coming over the feature. Also they should draw out the landing so you dont kill yourself from accidentally going to far on the landing. They cut the landing short on the jumps so if you go alittle too far you drop to the bottom into a divebomb to flats. Im just a concerned and opinionated rider that loves having a good session and wants to help out if i can so everyone can have just as much fun as me!!
