I always love visiting DAM. I have visited many times with my classes from a private school, so I've seen it mainly from the perspective of a teacher. I am now retired, and this time I went with my daughter and her two sons, ages 16 and 10. There was something for everyone to enjoy. We went to the Star Wars costume exhibit, which was exceptionally well done, including original drawings, paintings, video explanation and interviews with some of the cast, and an exquisite display of the original costumes. We also toured the Glory of Venice, (we did not take the guided tour), which my two grandsons really enjoyed, having just visited there last summer, and they found many paintings to which they could relate. We went to the contemporary wing also, and while they did not always understand the intent behind the art, they remained engaged through the hands-on activities in the exhibits. I think their favorite part of the visit was drawing in the costume design activity area. Well done, and we will return.
