Detroit

Stopped in today for some obligatory sushi and a virgin hot totti (Genevieve's special recommendation). The sushi was delicious and the drink was perfect, but the best part about my visit was the good vibes and good conversation from Jenny and Genevieve, two lovely ladies who made me feel warm and welcome - made my day! They say the people make a place, and these two definitely make this place top on my list for food and drink in downtown Detroit.

Went last night on the New Year's Eve Motown cruise. First time on the boat and was overall impressed. First, the highlights. The house band, The Prolifics, was good playing mostly Motown, with piped in Top 40 dance tunes between sets. Personable group who interacted well with the crowd. The atmosphere and ambiance was nice. Nicely appointed room(s),linen tablecloths and dressy chairs. It felt classy. There is easy access to outside decks but we only went out once as obviously it was quite chilly, but the views are great. Things I would like to see improved. The food, while ample, was only so-so and could have been warmer. I did enjoy the twice-baked potatoes and the tortellini pasta although, again, it could have been warmer. Everything is served buffet style. Fancy cash bar but the drinks are a bit on the pricey side although they were very generous in my 'shot' of whiskey and coke--not a watered down drink by any means. Overall, an enjoyable experience. Looking forward to trying the boat in the summer. 🛳🛳

The services was very friendly. The lady at the register helped us with suggestions. The prices are fair as well as quick service. I got the cheddar and beef potatoe. It was sooo good! And the portions were huge! I had plenty to take home for later. I recommend this place to everyone!

This is one of happy places and a good reason not to leave Detroit, despite the heinous winter weather. I was driving Forrest from downtown heading home tonight when I thought "I need pie!" I cut over on the icy side streets and was so very glad I did. I couldn't decide so I got three slices of pie and 2 of each of the cookies, and a lavender scone. I will share and will try to make it last 3-4 days, but it's going to be hard. Thank you for brightening my day, and then some! Your employees are all as sweet as pie -- appropriate. And every item you make is beyond yummy!

Best steak in town. Zip sauce is amazing! The Waitress are beautiful and management is awesome. Can't say enough good things about the place!! Enjoy!!

Came to MGM for the exquisite buffet at Palette, only to find the seafood buffet with crab legs wasn't available. We asked about sushi specifically, and were directed upstairs to Ignite. The atmosphere was very modern, beautiful and sophisticated, the service was exceptional, and the best part....the sushi!! We are patrons of many restaurants in the Toledo area who offer sushi, and the product we were given here last night was perfect!! We actually compared this sushi to that of the quality that we had in Vegas last year, without the Vegas prices! We are now adding Ignite to our short list of restaurants we will come from Ohio to visit!!

Loved everything about our stay, can't wait to come back! Since there are apartment tenants in the building as well, there a few dogs wandering around with their owners... my wife absolutely loved being able to say hello to a lab mix while in the lounge for a beverage. 521 is a corner room that has this ridiculous view of the stadiums and Fillmore on one side, and urban development on the other side; the juxtaposition of an emerging Detroit was fascinating.

This was only the 4th time I have flown into DTW and have had a great experience each time. I love the airport. It is beautiful and so easy to navigate. The fountain pond and tunnel are so pretty and I always look forward to seeing that. My last two trips there I stayed at the Westin Airport Hotel. Nothing could be more convenient. You can enter the hotel near corridor A, gate 35. You can also checkin at the hotel for your flight and back into Corridor A, gate 35. You will never checkin more easily for a flight than this. The only negative was that I could not find a diet Dr Pepper anywhere on Corridor A.

Stop into Russell Street Bazzar for The Pyramid experience. Up and coming r&b artist Jerel Duren showcased his ep Pyramid. Included in this evening was Chicago artist MusicReloaded. Havent been to this location on awhile. While growing up in the area its nice to see these buildings being utilized for rhings creative. Unaware of the other events going on that night. It was a treat to walk into the studio of local blown glass artist. Located on the second floor, can not recall their name, but very talented artist showcased their wears. For the firsttime ever I witnessed how beautiful glass pieces are great thru extreme heat. If I would of had the time, I would have explored the other levels of art and artist at this location.

I would have loved it and gave it a 5 instead of the 4 stars I gave if it wasn't for so many negative ppl in the crowd. Saying "excuse me" to every individual & trying to make it through the crowd my husband and I still had 4 different people get belligerent with us and threated to fight us in one way or another. Our friends, one of which was an off duty officer, had it happen twice to them too (way to disappoint citizens of Detroit). If you took those incidences out i'd say it was a perfect night. Absolutely beautiful decorations, performance and cute rink.

My husband & I hosted a party for 60+ guests this past weekend to celebrate the upcoming marriage of my stepson and his fiancée. Could not ask for a better experience. Staff was attentive beyond our expectations. Presentation was first rate. Food was outstanding and the wine selections which were recommended by Columbus Luckett were out of this world. Not one guest felt overlooked and I know that I NEVER had an empty champagne glass in my hand the entire evening. Everyone there was so thoughtful of our every need and were professional, courteous and warm. I am so happy that we chose DGC to host our special celebration and I will turn to the DGC team in the future for any and all events we will host. Thank you DGC.

We had an excellent time at the DIA over Christmas Break-there was something for everyone. My big girls explored while my 6 year old and I made puppets in the education center. We enjoyed lunch in the atrium and explored together before watching a Japanese anime movie in the theatre. So happy to have spent the day at the DIA. The staff and volunteers were friendly and helpful - went the extra mile with a smile on their face. Thank you for the wonderful day!

Having taken the kids to science museums in St Louis, Denver, Chicago, Milwaukee, and all over LA, I have seen it all. For a little museum, we were pleasantly surprised. The kids (ages 3, 5, 7, and 9) loved the highway building, steel manufacturing, and auto making exhibits. I loved them getting to learn something about their Detroit heritage. The combustion show was fun and entertaining for all. The downstairs exhibits on light, sound, and space were a bit more tired and hum drum, with lots of writing that didn't capture my little ones' attention, but the big kids enjoyed them. Little Kid City was very small and worn. My little ones had low standards and spent a happy half hour in there but it could use some sprucing up, especially as we've been in excellent kid cities elsewhere that entertain all my kids for hours. Strangely, it said no kids over age 5 allowed, but there was a room featuring buying things with specific amounts of money and making change. As a former teacher and homeschool mom of gifted kids, I personally don't know any Kindergarteners or preschoolers who could make change for a $1.75 purchase with a $5 bill, so that had me scratching my head. Next time I'll let my grade schoolers come in and play in that room despite the age limit. As we had a reciprocal membership with our science center in SoCal, we got in for free, and Grandpa was able to get in for the senior rate, plus a 20 percent D card discount I found online. Bargain! We spent about two and a half hours there. Bathrooms were clean. Long wait to get in, but it was Christmas break and didn't feel crowded inside. Staff were friendly and helpful. We parked across the street at the DIA lot for $7. Well worth a visit when we're back in town again!

My son lives in Southfied, I told him I wanted to go to your store. The employees were so nice. Martez even asked if I wanted my picture taken with Les or Seth; I said whoever isn't too busy. He said Les would be out in a little bit. When he came out he took a couple pictures with different people. My sons and I looked around. My youngest liked the items that had signatures on them. My oldest was fasinated with the sponge bob bling bling... We just couldn't afford something like that. All I have to say is, it's a lot nicer of a place than what some of the shows stress. I drove a total of 354 miles one way just to come to the store. I'm from Watsrka, Illinois. 2 hours south of Chicago. Thanks for the picture Les.. The people on my Facebook are jeolous of me getting to go there. �

I cannot say enough about how great my experience was this past weekend. I was in the store on Friday and purchased a watch, although realized soon afterwards it was too big for me and I should have gotten the 41mm. I came back the next day (at almost closing time) and the same salesperson, Tim, graciously helped me return the watch and pick out exactly what I wanted. I didn't feel rushed and he was very helpful and accommodating. The other employees I spoke with were also helpful and the store atmosphere was great. Thank you for making my watch-purchasing experience all that I hoped it would be!

The only reason I didn't give 5star rating is the $20 access fee to the balcony/seating. My hubby had hip surgery this summer and can't stand for extended periods of time and actually had to leave early and go to the car to sit since we weren't about to spend that amount. As a previous post stated $10 would have been acceptable. It was our first experience at St Andrews, which is odd since I'm a concert goer from way back, i.e. Grande Ballroom, Eastown Theater, etc. but the sound and the vibes were great. Seeing Rusted Root was a real treat for many reasons, and it was magical ✌️

Watched Game Grumps Live there last night. The place was sold out and there was a line that stretched for blocks just to get the guests in. The line staff was very friendly and did an amazing job getting it to go as fast as possible. The venue is fantastic, by the way. I will note that unless you're a smaller person like myself the balcony seating is a little snug. My friends are all much taller than I am and their knees had to be squashed up against the seats ahead of us. Totally not the venue's fault since it's a historic site an all. Highly recommend it. Get lower level seats if you're tall. ;)
