Emergency services responded to two crashes in the South Waikato area - one in Tokoroa, and one just south of Tokoroa on Sunday afternoon.

A truck rolled on State Highway 1 near Tokoroa on Sunday afternoon just south of the Waikato town, a Bay of Plenty police spokesman said.

Fire Service shift manager Colin Underdown said the truck had three axles and was on its side, partly blocking the road near Kinleith, but was carrying nothing inside.

The incident happened around 12.10pm and the driver was flown to Waikato Hospital.

"He said he had a sore neck, so ambulance helicoptered him out."

Around 12.50pm, a car rolled in Tokoroa on Mossop Road, near the sports grounds.

Underdown said one person was extracted from the car. The person was treated by ambulance at the scene for minor injuries.
