The following is a list of prominent individuals who were Croatian citizens or of Croatian ancestry.
Croats (/kroʊæt, kroʊɑːt/; Croatian: Hrvati, pronounced [xrʋăːti]) are a nation and South Slavic ethnic group at the crossroads of Central Europe, Southeast Europe, and the Mediterranean. Croats mainly live in Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina, but are an officially recognized minority in Austria, Czech Republic, Hungary, Italy, Montenegro, Romania, Serbia, and Slovakia. Responding to political, social and economic pressure, many Croats have migrated throughout Europe (especially Germany, Austria, Switzerland, France and Italy) and the Americas (particularly the United States, Canada, Chile, and Argentina), establishing a diaspora.
Croats are noted for their cultural diversity, which has been influenced by a number of other neighboring cultures through the ages. Croats are mostly Roman Catholics. The Croatian language is official in Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as in the European Union, and is a recognised minority language within Croatian autochthonous communities and minorities in Montenegro, Austria (Burgenland), Italy (Molise), Romania (Caraşova, Lupac) and Serbia (Vojvodina).

Natural Sound Rebel Serb forces in Pakrac, a town in Croatia, have surrendered today (Thursday) after a day of fierce fighting. It was believed to be the biggest Serb surrender since Serbs and Croats launched a bitter 1991 war that killed more than 10,000 people and left the Serbs in control of one-third of Croatia. A UN tank rolled into Pakrac Thursday - to witness the last moments of the fight for the town. Serb soldiers in the town had just surrendered to the Croat army. The surrendering Serbs, which included top military and civilian officials, were rounded up with their h...

Ethnic conflict in Australia. "ONE OF the nation's biggest international sporting events endured its blackest day yesterday as Serbs, Croats and Greeks clashed at the Australian Open tennis and threatened further ethnic warfare as the grand slam event continues. More trouble could erupt today, with Ilia Bozoljac of Serbia and Marin Cilic of Croatia due to play each other, but Tennis Australia and Victorian police say they have "contingency plans" to stop a repeat of yesterday's clashes involving about 150 people on the first day of competition at Melbourne Park." http://www.smh.com.au/news/tennis/open-rocked-by-ethnic-brawl/2007/01/15/1168709679372.html
I've lived long enough to see the dead horse
I've lived long enough to cross swamps at night
I've lived long enough to chase a rat
I've lived long enough to take a jet ride
If you see me on an airplane
Just make sure and get out of my way
I lived long enough to know the sun will drop
And you ought to leave it lie
To see the dying of the pines
I've lived long enough to kill my first love
I've lived long enough to break in and do harm
I've lived long enough to fly an airplane
I've lived long enough to break a machine
If you see me on an airplane
Just make sure and get out of my way
I lived long enough to know the sun will drop
And you ought to leave it lie
