Plot: A bored marketing manager comes across a forgotten script and in a flash of inspiration, decides to stage a play to get out of her monotonous life. This crazy idea brings together a bunch of old friends and Mausams tells the story of this motley bunch as they cross each others paths over the days that build up to the play. The film follows a simple point of view. Like Mausams or Seasons, things always change. It is not always bright and sunny. It is not always cold and chilly. But with some initiative, loads of optimism and a little bit of luck, you can still manage to smile no matter what season you are in.

Plot: A thesis picture. In 1938, Gandhi's party is making inroads in women's rights. Chuyia, a child already married but living with her parents, becomes a widow. By tradition, she is unceremoniously left at a bare and impoverished widows' ashram, beside the Ganges during monsoon season. The ashram's leader pimps out Kalyani, a young and beautiful widow, for household funds. Narayan, a follower of Gandhi, falls in love with her. Can she break with tradition and religious teaching to marry him? The ashram's moral center is Shakuntala, deeply religious but conflicted about her fate. Can she protect Kalyani or Chuyia? Amid all this water, is rebirth possible or does tradition drown all?

Both Manjula and Daulatrao get intimate, and soon she gives birth to a son, Madhavrao. When villagers, led by Rukmani's brother, Narayan, find out that she has given birth out of wedlock, they humiliate and force her to leave the district. Manjula brings up Madhavrao on her son, making a living as a dancer/singer. Years pass by, Madhavrao has grown up, is in love with a dancer/singer, Bakula, and works in the theatre troupe run by his mother. An ailing Daulatrao manages to convince Rukmani to accept Manjula and her son as the sole heir to his estate, and she agrees. Manjula and Madhavrao re-locate to live with the Deshmukhs, much to the chagrin of Narayan. Many problems arise after Daulatrao passes away, namely, Madhavrao is not permitted to see Bakula anymore nor meet anyone from the troupe; Manjula detests the old way of life and wants Madhavrao to marry a decent girl; and Narayan gathers together some hoodlums and forcibly takes over the house and property of the Deshmukhs.
