More than half a million people are believed to have taken to the streets in Washington DC to protest against President Donald Trump, with hundreds of thousands more demonstrating around the world. Women were involved in demonstrations in Washington DC (pictured top left), New York (top right), Chicago (bottom left) and Los Angeles (bottom right) one day after Trump's inauguration. On top of that, an estimated 2.5 million are thought to have marched in major cities around the world.

Scarlett Johansson was left looking angry when her emotional speech at the Women's March was cut short after she mentioned Ivanka Trump on Saturday in Washington D.C. The Hollywood actress was at the height of her speech asking listeners to support clinics such as Planned Parenthood when music started playing and her mic was turned off. She was visibly annoyed that her impassioned plea was ended after she requested Trump to offer her daughter the same 'privileges' that were available to Ivanka Trump while she was growing up.

Donald Trump was sworn in as the 45th President of the United States on Friday afternoon then beamed as he enjoyed his inaugural dance with model wife Melania while daughters Ivanka and Tiffany looked on. And the next day he attended church with his family to pray for a peaceful transition. But already marches were beginning across the country to protest the President's stand on such issues as abortion, diversity and climate change. And celebrities were at the front of many of these marches, including a teary eyed Charlize Theron in Utah and a pink kitty hat wearing Julia Roberts in Washington DC where 200,000 women met up.

Donald Trump Jr, his wife Vanessa and their daughter Kai Madison were bowling this afternoon at the White House Bowling Alley. As the family had fun on the lanes, more than 500,000 people protested against new president Donald Trump's political agenda right outside in Washington DC.

First Lady Melania Trump and Ivanka Trump attended the national prayer service with the new president as part of an inauguration tradition. The two women were dressed to the nines in their designer outfits. Melania, who sported a baby blue Ralph Lauren ensemble yesterday, was dressed in chic black, while Ivanka donned a striking red outfit.

The 44th president was up at 9am Pacific time for a trip to a country club gym near the Rancho Mirage, CA, home where he and Michelle are staying. Next it was a trip to golf on Larry Ellison's course, Porcupine Creek. THe Oracle billionaire's course is one of the most discreet and expensive in California. He was pictured in a Secret Service SUV leaving the private community of Thunderbird Heights (bottom right) and heading to the country club for a workout. Beside him in the SUV (top right) was his host James Costos, who was the ex-president's ambassador to Spain, The former first couple are on vacation for two weeks. Their final trip on the presidential flight was extended when it could not land at Palm Springs on Friday night because of bad weather conditions.

Thousands of women across the world marched in protest today against new US President Donald Trump. In more than 600 marches held all over the globe, they carried signs with messages such as 'Women won't back down' and 'Less fear more love' as they decried Trump's stand on such issues as abortion, diversity and climate change. But others preferred to use a sense of humour to express their feelings, bearing hilarious signs mocking the 45th President. Here is a selection of the boldest placards from the Trump protests.

A writer on Saturday Night Live deleted her tweet saying Barron Trump will become 'this country's first homeschool shooter' after she was berated for picking on the 10-year-old. Katie Rich fired off the tweet on Inauguration Day, only to delete it three hours later and set her account to private after she faced a barrage of criticism. The comedy writer was branded 'scum' by Twitter users who called for her account to be blocked while others urged NBC to fire her.

A pediatric nurse who survived a deadly car crash that killed five of her fellow nursing students in 2015 wept as she was awarded $15million by a jury on Friday. The driver had failed to stop for a traffic jam. He was sentenced to five years in prison. A billionaire is selling off pieces of his Texas mansion that he purchased last year before it's demolished. The Trammell Crow estate, located in Highland Park, belongs to businessman Andy Beal. DFW Pre-Demolition and Estate Sales is handling the sale. The mansion is on a six-acre lot and features 10,000 square feet. It was built for cotton tycoon Henry Lee Edwards, before real estate developer Trammell Crow bought the home in 1961. Beal has an estimated $10.3billion net worth and is a Trump adviser.

After a tough loss to the Green Bay Packers in the divisional round of the NFL playoffs, the Dallas Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliot was spotted blowing off some steam in Las Vegas. Walmart store cameras allegedly show the moment an accused killer Markeith Loyd (pictured left) stood over an Orlando Police Lieutenant Debra Clayton (pictured right), repeatedly shooting her until she eventually died. Orlando Police chief John Mina said that Loyd could have easily escaped after wounding Clayton, but chose to 'stand over her defenseless body' and kill her. Loyd was charged with first-degree murder of a law enforcement officer in connection with Clayton's death, as well as attempted first-degree murder with a firearm, carjacking with a firearm, aggravated assault and wearing a bulletproof vest. He was caught on Tuesday after a nine-day pursuit by police. He was wanted for alleged murder of Clayton and of his pregnant ex-girlfriend Sade Dixon in December.

Dalila, a curvy contestant on the French version of Wheel of Fortune, almost flashed the camera every time she took a spin. The popular gameshow, named La Roue de la Fortune in France, sees guests answer questions and spin a giant wheel to win large cash prizes. Unfortunately, Dalila's strapless gown struggled to cope with all the movement.

Two men were plucked from their SUV north of Phoenixwhen they were stuck in a flooded creek bed. Amazing footage from Rural Metro Fire Department shows the rushing water enveloping the vehicle as emergency services use wires and a helicopter to rescue the two men. The driver tried to pass a creek bed that is usually clear on Saturday morning. But the night before there were heavy rains in the northwest valley so it was flooded.

Ruby Warrington gave up alcohol when she needed to focus on writing a book and freelance work, but soon found she preferred the life of sobriety, and hasn't looked back since her decision. In the weeks following her change to give up alcohol, she found she slept better, her digestion improved, and she was forming deeper and more meaningful relationships with some of her friends. Five years of trial and error later, she doesn't miss alcohol and has no plans to drink any time soon.

The granddaughter of the Florida couple who burned and tortured their 10-year-old adopted children and killed one has spoken out about the months of abuse in the couple's home. The girl, identified as A.P. in court documents as she is a minor, described the horrifying abuse she saw her grandparents administer to the 10-year-old twins they adopted. Prosecutors are seeking the death penalty for Barahona and his wife, Carmen, for torturing twins Nubia and Victor Barahona and killing Nubia.

People in Suwalki, Poland, held a fundraiser for Hanks (inset) after seeing his Instagram and Twitter posts (right) in which he joked: 'I'm so excited about my new car!! Hanx.' The community, led by entrepreneur and rally driver Rafal Sonikhas, raised 8500 Zloty to purchase a Fiat 126 in fetching turquoise (main). It is being transported to Bielsko-Biala in southern Poland where it will be restored before it's gifted to the Toy Story star. The rear-engined Fiat 126, has a top speed of 65mph.

Discarded in the grounds of an abandoned theme park, this mannequin graveyard is an eerie sight to behold. Spread across wasteland and surrounded by woodland the items, which are believed to have belonged to a former amusement park in Lancashire, have now found a final resting place.. The photographer will not reveal the exact location of the abandoned amusement park, but it is believed the pictures were taken at Camelot near Chorley.

The woman (pictured) was riding her 100cc scooter on a two-lane road when the lorry carrying rocks turns left across her path. She slams on the brakes but falls off and skids under the construction truck's enormous wheels. But somehow she passed through the gap between the front and back wheels coming within inches of being crushed before the vehicle stops. Shocked onlookers watched as she crawls out from beneath the truck with a broken leg in Chiang Mai, northern Thailand.

CCTV captured Debian, also known as Dibdab and Dibber, climbing into a tiered bed for a catnap in his favourite spot in his lounge in Edinburgh, Scotland. The bed is obviously not quite large enough to accommodate his hefty body and his rolls of fat spill over the sides. As Debian sleepily readjusts himself the bed starts to buckle under his weight.

A video shows the extreme lengths people are going to to get to the continent. The footage shows a teenager squeezing from under the base of a lorry as well as two men fleeing to land from a ship. In the last month alone, a special device of the National Police in Ceuta and Melilla has detected 500 attempts by foreigners to reach the Spanish mainland.
