Adelaide's sodden summer

Adelaide is having the wettest summer to date in more than half a century.
Last night's intense storms brought the city's running total for the season so far to 128mm. This makes it the wettest summer in six years and the wettest to date in more than 50 years.
The average total for all of summer in Adelaide is just 73.5mm. This has nearly been doubled already this season.
This shouldn't come as a surprise, considering the city collected more than a month's worth of rain in just six hours last night.
Rain-weary locals will have plenty of time to dry out this weekend as warmer northerly winds develop ahead of an approaching trough.
Don't put the brolly away just yet though. Showers will return on Monday when the trough crosses the state.
