1792 (MDCCXCII) was a leap year starting on Sunday (dominical letter AG) of the Gregorian calendar and a leap year starting on Thursday (dominical letter DC) of the Julian calendar, the 1792nd year of the Common Era (CE) and Anno Domini (AD) designations, the 792nd year of the 2nd millennium, the 92nd year of the 18th century, and the 3rd year of the 1790s decade. Note that the Julian day for 1792 is 11 calendar days difference, which continued to be used from 1582 until the complete conversion of the Gregorian calendar was entirely done in 1929.
Taarak Mehta is an Indian columnist, humorist, writer and playwright who is best known for the column Duniya Na Undha Chasma in the Gujarati language. He has translated and adapted several comedies into Gujarati, and has been well-known figure in the Gujarati theatre.
The humorous weekly column first appeared in Chitralekha in March 1971 and ever since has been looking at contemporary issues from a different perspective. He has published 80 books, over the years, three books are based on the columns he wrote in Gujarati newspaper, Divya Bhaskar while rest were compiled from the stories in Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah.
In 2008 SAB TV, a popular entertainment channel in India, started a show Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah that is based on his column, and soon it became the flagship show of the channel.
Taarak Mehta comes from a Jain family. He lives in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, where he moved in 2000, with his second wife, Indu, of over 30 years. His first wife, Ila who later married Manohar Doshi, (died 2006), also stayed in the same apartment building. Single barrel whiskey (or single cask whisky) is a premium class of whisky in which each bottle comes from an individual aging barrel, instead of being created by blending together the contents of various barrels to provide uniformity of color and taste. Even whiskeys that are not blends may be combined from more than one batch, or even from differing years to achieve their consistency. The whiskey from each barrel is bottled separately, with each bottle bearing the barrel number and in most cases the dates for the beginning and end of aging. Each barrel is thought to contribute unique characteristics to the finished whiskey. Recently, however, there has been some controversy over whether single cask whiskies are indeed all from single casks. Whiskies sold by Scottish distilleries such as Ben Nevis and especially GlenDronach as "single casks" have been revealed to be vattings of multiple barrels, which may themselves have been of different kinds, with the "single cask" designation referring only to the final cask of maturation. In the absence of specific regulation of this language it is not clear to what extent such practice is prevalent in the industry as a whole.

I sat down to review the special “limited edition” releases from the 1792 Bourbon line. I started with the first release of “Sweet Wheat” (91.2 proof) and follow that up with the “Port Finish” (88.9 proof), the “Single Barrel” (98.6 proof), and end on the most recent “Full Proof” (125 proof). All of these retailed around $45-$60. It’s hard to choose a favorite (since they all are different and have nice qualities about each one), but if I had to choose my top 3, I’d select the Full Proof first, and tie the Single Barrel and Port Finish for second. The Sweet Wheat isn’t bad, but someone has to come in fourth. ;-) As of 07-09-2016, my current bottle count stands at over 2,350 bottles. I am a Certified Specialist of Spirits and have also been certified by the Tequila Regulatory Counci...

The second episode in a very long series about the American presidential elections from 1788 to the present. I hope to have them done by Election Day 2016. George Washington decided not to retire, yet political division was already everywhere. Feeling really dorky?
