We've all been there.
It's your birthday. You're on a night out. You receive a present. Everything is delightful... until you have to figure out where to put it for the rest of the night.
Like a woman handed a bottle of wine in a gift bag she would certainly not be able to take into the pub, Michelle Obama just did not know what to do with the rather large present she received from Melania Trump before the Inauguration kicked off on Friday.
A box, in an unmistakeable Tiffany & Co blue, was handed from incoming to outgoing first lady when the Obamas welcomed the Trumps to the White House, prior to the swearing in ceremony taking place.
In a video widely shared on social media, Michelle Obama looked unsure of how to store the present, turning to give a confused expression to camera before husband Barack eventually took it off her hands and walked out of shot, towards the White House, with the box.

Inside the blue Tiffany's box Melania handed Michelle is just a desperately scrawled note that says "Take me with you."

Parting gift.
Yeah, she's not pleased. pic.twitter.com/cpbhAtmLkW
What was she supposed to do with it? Nurse it on her lap during the ceremony? Take it with her for the handover photograph session? Subsequently pose with it like she was appearing in an ad on the back page of The New Yorker?
Although it is not known what was inside the box, a Tiffany & Co spokesperson did not reveal its contents when asked by the New York Times, its size would suggest it was an item larger than a piece of jewellery (most likely a picture frame or similar home item).
