William Bruce Cameron (born 1960 in Petoskey, Michigan) is an American humor columnist. Cameron is best remembered as the author of the best-selling self-improvement book 8 Simple Rules for Dating My Teenage Daughter, which was later adapted into the short-lived ABC sitcom of the same name that aired between 2002 and 2005. His book, 8 Simple Rules for Marrying My Daughter, was released in 2008, and already had a Hollywood movie deal before its publication, with 89 Films and Wendy Finerman, producer of The Devil Wears Prada.
Cameron is also the author of How to Remodel a Man, which was excerpted in the August 2005 issue of O, The Oprah Magazine, and was the subject of the November 1, 2005 Oprah Show. His novel, A Dog's Purpose, was published July 2010 by Tom Doherty Associates. It was 19 weeks on The New York Times Best Seller list in its hardcover release. The softcover version was released May 24, 2011. In total, A Dog's Purpose has spent a year on The New York Times Bestseller list (hardcover and paperback combined).
The Scots-English language name Bruce arrived in Scotland with the Normans, from the place name Brix of the Manche département in Normandy, France, meaning "the willowlands". Initially promulgated via the descendants of King Robert I of Scotland (Robert the Bruce) (1274-1329), it has been a Scottish surname since medieval times; it is now a common given name.
The variant Lebrix and Le Brix are French variations of the surname.

A Dog's Purpose is a 2010 novel written by American humorist W. Bruce Cameron, author of 8 Simple Rules for Dating my Teenage Daughter and How to Remodel a Man. The book chronicles a dog's journey through several lives via reincarnation and how he looks for his purpose through each of his lives.
The novel stayed a New York Times bestseller for forty-nine weeks, garnering critical praise from such sources as Temple Grandin, famous for her study of cattle behavior, Kirkus Reviews, and Marty Becker, resident veterinarian on the early-morning television show, Good Morning America. A sequel followed in May 2012, titled A Dog's Journey, following the same dog after the events of the previous book. The film rights of the book were bought by DreamWorks.
The narrator first starts out as a feral puppy. A few weeks later, after being nursed by their mother, a feral as well, the dog and his siblings Fast, Sister, and Hungry go outside of their den to explore the woods around them. Soon after, men come and capture them. The dogs arrive at a place called the Yard, where dozens of abandoned dogs reside under the guidance of a gentle old woman who the narrator calls Señora. The narrator, who is soon named Toby by Señora, adjusts to his new lifestyle. Later, the two men appear back with Toby's sister.

Mike is disdainful of private art collectors and is interested when art expert Professor Gissing suggests that they, along with banker Allan Cruikshank, devise a plan to swap priceless paintings from the national gallery and owned by a banking conglomerate for clever forgeries. The forgeries will be left behind, giving the impression that the thieves abandoned their haul when they fled. For a single day the gallery is open to the public under the Doors Open scheme and the trio plan to use this to their advantage. Mike brings on board another old friend, small time crook Charlie Calloway, but Charlie is in debt to a gang boss known as the Geordie and wants a painting to buy him off. The gang use a fake fire drill to pull off the theft and, despite getting locked in the gallery, are successful. Laura returns to Mike, who confesses what he has done but Gissing has double-crossed the others, absconding with all the paintings and leaving Allan,Charlie and Mike at the mercy of the Geordie. It is down to Laura to save the situation.

About the Presentation Companies from aerospace to white goods use platforming strategies to deliver more variety to their customers while saving internally by sharing parts and overhead. However, many firms fail to earn a return on their investment in platforms—Black & Decker famously dropped its platforming strategy one generation after a landmark tool family design. This webinar will explore whether such failures are the result of flawed strategy or execution challenges. The challenges will be discussed in the context of industrial case studies conducted over the last six years. These studies have shown that many firms face systematic downward pressure on commonality. For example, in several cases companies set initial commonality goals only to realize less than half of the commonalit...

The rule of Charles II (1660 - 1685) also extended to Scotland, where the Presbyterian church and state were exposed to horrific abuses, and the king fully disregarded the agreements he had made with the Scottish people when they acknowledged him as their monarch. His imposition of the Clarendon Code forced faithful followers of the Scottish Reformation into an underground church, meeting in conventicles, and during this 'killing time,' as it came to be called, hundreds if not thousands of Christian people were imprisoned, tortured, and executed in unimaginable and ghastly ways. The man who rose to galvanize the Scottish resistance came to be known as 'The Lion of the Covenant,' Richard Cameron, and sparked by his leadereship and courage, the repudiation of tyranny finally culminated in th...
