Police have reportedly opened fire on a car in Bourke Street in the middle of Melbourne's CBD.
Witnesses saw a car speeding along Bourke Street, before it reportedly mounted a footpath.
A press conference with lord mayor Robert Doyle, which was due to be held in the CBD, has been delayed until further notice.
