Matthew James "Matt" Bellamy (born 9 June 1978) is an English musician, singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and composer. He is best known as the lead vocalist, lead guitarist, pianist, and principal songwriter of rock band Muse. As a performer, he is often recognised for his eccentric stage persona, wide tenor vocal range, and piano and guitar playing abilities.
Bellamy's father, George, from Sunderland was rhythm guitarist in the 1960s pop group The Tornados, who were the first British band to have a United States number one song, with "Telstar". "Knights of Cydonia", a single from Muse's fourth album Black Holes and Revelations, is often cited as a tribute to that song, with its space rock sound and accompanying video depicting a cowboy's quest through an alien landscape. Bellamy's mother, Marilyn, was born in Belfast, and moved to England in the 1970s. On her first day in England she met George, who was at the time working as a taxi driver in London. They later moved to Cambridge where Matthew's older brother Paul was born, followed a couple of years later by Matthew. In the mid-1980s, the family moved to Teignmouth, Devon. After the divorce of Bellamy's parents, he lived with his mother and brother. Bellamy started playing the piano at the age of 6 and guitar when he was 11. His first musical performance was in June 1991, aged 12, playing piano in front of his school at Teignmouth Community College.

The Muses /ˈmjuːzᵻz/ (Ancient Greek: Μοῦσαι Mousai; perhaps from the o-grade of the Proto-Indo-European root *men- "think") in Greek mythology are the goddesses of the inspiration of literature, science, and the arts. They were considered the source of the knowledge embodied in the poetry, song-lyrics, and myths that were related orally for centuries in these ancient cultures. They were later adopted by the Romans as a part of their pantheon.
In current English usage, "muse" can refer in general to a person who inspires an artist, writer, or musician.
Political allusions to the influential roles that the muse plays within the political sphere has also been referenced in current American literature.
The earliest known records of the Muses are from Boeotia, the homeland of Hesiod. Some ancient authorities thought that the Muses were of Thracian origin. There, a tradition persisted that the Muses had once been three in number. Diodorus Siculus quotes Hesiod to the contrary, observing:
Apple Music is a music streaming service developed by Apple Inc. Users select music to stream to their device on demand. The service includes the curated Internet radio station Beats 1, the blog platform Connect that allows artists to share their posts, photos, videos and tracks with fans, and Radio which incorporates some aspects of iTunes Radio. Apple Music provides music recommendations based on user's taste and is integrated with Siri voice commands.
Apple stated at the WWDC 2015 that the service would launch at the end of June 2015 and would be free for the first three months of usage. After that, Apple Music subscription would cost US$9.99 per month, close to the economic equilibrium point for the recording industry estimated by the Open Music Model.
Users select music on a device, which then plays on the device via Internet streaming and may be saved to the device for offline access. The service also provides music recommendations based on user taste. While Apple Music's cost and music library are similar to other music streaming services, the service aims to distinguish itself with added features and content exclusives.

EDIT: The collective reaction to this video has been...ASTOUNDING. No other word. The Muser community kinda came together over this, and that's just beautiful, really. Glad I could help the cause!! :) Now, to keep this bleedin' thing up, I have a small favor to ask...If you want me to be able to deliver this sort of message to the man himself in person, I have a VERRRRRY slight chance of winning a contest in which the prize is dinner with the celebrity of your choice--which, for me, is Mr. Bellamy here...of course! ;) So, if you could drop me a vote, it'd be AMAZING!! Well, truthfully, the video should have been movie length, but i couldn't find that many clips! :D
Redoing the description to hopefully answer most of the questions and comments that are being posted. 1. I'm not gonna include cracks and squeaks, which is why for example Jared's 6th octave notes and Brendon's C7 aren't included. They are extremely short notes that are neither sung nor intended to be musical. They are where they belong, in the trash. Oh and regarding notes from other range videos, Matt's "D6" is a D5 with overtones, and I have yet to hear a supposed C6 by Patrick that actually exist. 2. For Brendon, I chose to focus on his "full" range for as long as possible, since that's what people commonly judge singers by. However, if you are basing your opinion on soft highs, often falsetto ones like Patrick uses, check out the F#5 in Oh Glory, E5 in Stall Me and the Bb5 included ...

I love MUSE, but I hate twilight. I think you agree. I was extremely disappointed in Muse to see this music video with all the clips from twilight in it- so I made my own edit of the video WITH NO TWILIGHT! THE MUSE ONLY VERSION. w00t, right? Anyway, it's not perfect and if you have any suggestions I'd love to hear them. My obsessions tend to get the better of me. I hardly watch TV, but Fringe stands out for a couple reasons: the zany Dr. Walter Bishop and the theme music. The former has irrepressible cravings for food, the latter is undeniably catchy. Even if Olivia Dunham is meant to be the "main character", the show doesn't work without Bishop's far-flung expertise and polarized reactions. Fringe's theme is composed by the multitalented J.J. Abrams, and I listened to it so much that I was compelled to learn it on the piano and play it for you. Thanx to No1hotdogguy for helping me figure out, so I could take sheer liberties to blend it with X-Files. (Which Fringe has inevitably drawn comparisons to.) There's also some Rachmaninoff influence because I've been listening to Matt Bellamy's solos lately. The...

This is a video made by me to show my favorite high notes from my favorites singers! (I was going to show Chester Bennington from Linkin Park, but I don't think he sings the same way like them, he is better with screams) Este é um vídeo feito por mim para mostrar as minhas notas agudas favoritas dos meus cantores favoritos! Nice interview with Matt Bellamy from Muse, aired on german TV on the 17th of September 2009. Rather discussing the influence of lobbyists on politicians & ways of peaceful protest against suppressing corporate powers than the album. In other words: Matt's in top form ;-) The interviewer's accent is dreadful, though (no, not all germans speak english that way!)

Kate Hudson finally revealed why she ended her engagement to Matt Bellamy, in an interview with Allure magazine. The 36-year-old star separated from her Muse frontman fiancé in 2014 following four years together and she's now revealed their differing opinions of their lives together is what forced them apart. She explained: "Relationships ending are painful, and you can choose to carry that or you can choose to reframe it. If Matt and I had a great relationship, we would still be together, but we chose to move on because we had different visions of how we wanted to live our lives. "That doesn't mean, though, that we can't rebuild something that would be the best thing for the kids." http://www.channel24.co.za/Gossip/News/Kate-Hudson-finally-reveals-to-Allure-why-she-ended-her-engagement-...

In the final programme of the series the guitarists talk about how they find their own sound, and how the guitar has changed their lives. Since its invention, the electric guitar has unleashed a seemingly inexhaustible sonic invention among guitarists. Featuring Muse's Matt Bellamy, who turns out to be following in his father's space age footsteps, Tony Iommi from Black Sabbath, who talks about the invention of heavy metal, David Gilmour from Pink Floyd, Pete Townshend (Perhaps equally famous for smashing guitars), Johnny Marr from the Smiths on 'the mother of all riffs', Slash and The Edge from U2 among many others.
