    Related, I struggle to comprehend the logic/breakdown in the cookbook categories — there's "American" AND "General," then only 3 books can be nominated from the rest of the world of cuisine for the "International" category. (I thought the nominees were great btw)

    This is an interesting discussion - I, and the people who cook from my books, would not see my books as anything other than “general”. It’s everyday cooking from many cultural influences. Is that not general enough?
