Hello! My name is Stormi. I am a 20 year old female from the United States touring in Australia for the next 3 months. I am looking for this kind of casual work in order to be able to support myself for the remainder of my time here. My only experience working with children comes from caring for my 4 year old niece, Paisley Rae. She is a bright beautiful girl who has helped me gain a huge appreciation for children, their intelligence, wittiness, and charm. Prior to my move to Australia, we spent most days having breakfast/lunch together, coloring, and watching Bubble Guppies during nap time in the afternoon (she's grown so much since I've been away and now attends preschool ): ). A few of my favorite hobbies include several sports activities, cooking, and spending time with loved ones!

Hi Canberra Families
I'm a 29 year old female currently working as an Accountant during the week and living in Kingston.
I have done babysitting with agencies and through my own contacts for over 8 years. It has been a great part-time/casual job throughout my years studying at school/university and whilst working as a professional Accountant.
The requirement to be active when minding kids always provided a great outlet outside of study and the professional world. I enjoy looking after children of all ages. Am happy to do extra house cleaning, tutoring, pick-up and drop-off's and overnight stays.
Outside of diving I enjoy; yoga (ashtanga), scuba diving, snow skiing, healthy eating (vegan) and language study and have also started hosting children's parties with my best friend Jodie.
I'm currently available for weekends and by negotiation during the week.
Look forward to meeting and discussing sitting opportunities with you.

Back home in Sydney I volunteered ( for 3 years) and worked casually for 2 years in a childcare centre which included a large chunk of full time work after finishing my HSC. I was offered to traineeship at this centre but chose to come to uni in Canberra instead! While there, I worked in both the 2-3 and 3-5 year old rooms so I have lots of experience teaching/looking after pre-school aged children.
I also have experience looking after children from 6 weeks of age. I am very confident in my ability to care for kids of all ages, including babies.
I love imaginative play, creative arts, reading, and exploring. I think it is important for kids to be able to enjoy nature, and therefore encourage as much outdoor (supervised, haha) play as possible. I also enjoy cooking, and find that most children love to get involved too. …

My personal philosophy:
I believe that each child is an individual who has different diversity, routines, beliefs, etc., and as an educator I will value and develop each child’s strengths, interests, skills, abilities and knowledge to extend their learning through play, also providing the opportunities for children to explore, create an idea, discover, imagine and make choices in an environment.
I believe as an educator to assist the children be able express their own feeling to others, using their imagination to communicate with other children during play, explore their curiosity with the environment, learning self-help skills such as putting a shoelace, buttoning, dressing, responsible with the resources, putting the sock, hand washing, as children are unique.
I believe as an educator using responsive listening to understand and respect children’s learning. As an educator, I believe children are active learning through imitation and routine experience.

Hi, my name is Megan and I am a 24 year old who has just completed uni and I am now looking for some casual work as I have just moved to Canberra and don't start my full time job until Mid-feb.

I have recently graduated college with a Year 12 certificate with my sights set on university next year. I believe that to be a caregiver (more specifically a babysitter) means that I can help others, which I classify as a priority in my life. I like working with others, more specifically one-on-one, because I like influencing positive change in other people’s lives. Working as a babysitter means that I have the potential to make a difference in someone’s life and do things that make him or her feel better. Being a babysitter does place emphasis on the child/ren but also to the parent/s or guardian where help is needed.

I love playing and taking care kids very much. Therefore, babysitting is always my priority part time job I want to do. I used to look after my nieces and nephews with the overall parent's tasks such as cooking, preparing meals, bathing, dressing, helping them with homework, playing with them, preparing them for school, and so on. In addition, I used to live with a host family where I assisted them to prepare meals and take care their children in weekdays while they go to work. I have my own car so I can pick them up from school. I am reliable, responsible, honest, enthusiastic, patient, punctual, hard working and careful. I am pretty good at doing housework so I can do some extra cleaning house if required.

Hi parents! I will be returning to Canberra soon from working my second year as a camp counselor at a summer camp in America, and then working at a sports camp in Canada during the fall. I have had wonderful experiences working with children, and I'm hoping to be able to continue this within Australia. I have also worked at a day camp called Camp Blue in Sydney, as well as a resident camp in Durban, South Africa. I am comfortable caring for boys and girls of all ages, as well as young babies. The most recent babysitting jobs I've had were for two different families, one in the mornings to help a family with four children get ready for school and daycare, and one in the afternoons picking a brother and sister up from their schools and spending a few hours with them each day. I am currently taking a break from my studies at university, and am very flexible with my availability, hours and rates. I hope to hear from you!

I have worked as a Nanny/Babysitter for 5+ years now, caring for children from newborn to 10 years of age. I was first drawn to babysitting as a casual job during university, but I soon realised I loved working with children and watching them grow into confident young people. I see myself as very hands on and active babysitter - I enjoy joining in on games, reading books, painting and arts/crafts, as well as taking them on excursions (swimming pools, parks, museums etc). I am planning on moving to the UK in approx 6 months, so I am unfortunately only looking for something short term (whether it be one month or the six months).

My name is Lauren. I am 31years old, I live in Goulburn but currently work full time in Queanbeyan, and am available for evening babysitting or housekeeping work, as well as some weekends.
I'm fun, bubby, and committed to helping your family. I'm a mum of a 4.5 year old daughter and have been married for 10years. I've been in the child care industry for 12 years and love what I do. I currently work in a creche/child minding setting looking after a few children every day, ranging from 1 to 9. I've also worked in long day care centres and have knowledge of developmental milestones.
I'm happy to look after your children, take them on outings, do their night time routine with them, some housekeeping, or just some casual weekends for date night or alone time, if that's what you need!
