Double change for Pakistan, with Imad Wasim replacing Junaid Khan. Australia did well to survive that spell just two down, partly in thanks to some no balls, and Smith and Handscomb will look to build through the middle overs of this innings.

Replays show that had that last catch been taken, Handscomb would have been saved by yet another no-ball.

Amir out of the attack

Mohammad Amir left the field during that last Junaid Khan over and now he has been replaced by Hasan Ali. Ali will be looking to maintain the pressure that Amir built in what was a phenomenal spell.

Handscomb dropped

And just as I write that last post, Handscomb cuts the ball straight to point, who drops him clean. That ball rocketed towards the fielder and he had not even realised it was coming until it was too late. Yet another life for Handscomb how many will he get before the beginner's luck runs out?

At drinks Australia are 2/59 and just hoping that Junaid Khan and Mohammad Amir will leave the attack very shortly.

Handscomb edges again, this time it falls short of second slip. Nervous times indeed for the Australians. But they will take solace in knowing that they only have a few overs of this onslaught remaining. If Smith and Handscomb can get through the next few overs, they'll be able to get to work rebuilding this innings.

Hafeez is going in for the kill here. He has left Mohammad Amir in the attack, despite the fact that he's now i his seventh over. Hafeez can sniff another wicket and given the way Amir is bowling, he's probably right.

Another big shout

This time it's Smtih, swinging at another wide one, the ball goes through to the keeper and Rizwan immediately tosses the ball up in celebration but the umpire is unmoved. Pakistan do not use their challenge and snicko indicates that this was a wise move.

Handscomb falls, then he gets a reprieve

It's Handscomb ths time, wait no it's not. Handscomb wafts at another wide one, like Khawaja he didn't use his feet, but this time the ball flies to first slip. Handscomb trudges off and the dominoes continue falling.

But shortly before he can reach the rope, the third umpire takes a look at the front foot and Junaid Khan has overstepped the line. Instead of a duck on debut, Handscomb picks up four off the free hit. Will he make the most of his second chance?

Khawaja falls

This time they've got him. Khawaja wafts at a wide one, doesn't move his feet and edges it to Rizwan. He doesn't move, either in disbelief at the shot he played or at the umpire's decision, but there is no review and replays indicate an edge.

It looks like Warner was the first domino to fall. Can Peter Handscomb steady the ship on debut?

Huge shout

A huge shout by the wicket keeper and slips, umpire shakes his head and Hafeez chooses not to review. A brilliant ball by Amir that Khawaja attempts to defend on the bat foot, not quite sure how it missed the bat, but it does and Khawaja lives to fight another day.

Warner falls

Warner is not so lucky this time. Attempting another back foot drive through cover, he edges it and is caught behind by Mohammad Rizwan. Is that the first domino to fall or just merely a blip on the radar? Steve Smith is the new man out there

Warner mishit falls safely

Warner attempts a pull shot but doesn't connect, the ball flies up in the air but travels over mid on's head and falls safely. He was fortunate there, the ball could have gone anywhere.

Runout opportunity for Pakistan. Khawaja hits the ball straight to mid on and Warner takes off for a run. Khawaja sends him back as Shoaib Malik takes a shot at his stumps, if he hits Warner's out. He missed.

This has been a strong spell from Mohammad Amir, he has bowled a probing line outside off stump and has drawn a few plays and misses from the Australian batsmen. It will be a tough challenge for the Aussies to survive this opening spell.

Warner drives off the back foot through covers and the ball races away to the boundary, it was not a bad ball but brilliantly played.

Fast bowling of Mohammad Amir opening the bowling with the other new ball and he almost has Warner first ball. Ball shaping away and Warner swings hard, the ball narrowly misses the outside edge.

Pakistan open with spin

Dave Warner and Usman Khawaja are opening the batting for Australia, but the big shock is Pakistan opening the bowling with the off-spin of Mohammad Hafeez. Given how much Australia struggled against on Sunday, this is not a bad tactic.

Welcome back as Australia gets set to start their second innings run chase. The big challenge for Australia will be ensuring a strong start after they suffered top order collapses in the first two matches of this series. Australia were saved by Matthew Wade in the first match, but their poor batting cost them in Melbourne. Australia will be confident that they can chase down 264, but Pakistan have bowled well through the first two matches.

Pakistan 7/263

A solid over from Faulkner, six off it. Pakistan finish at 7/263, a bit below par and definitely lower than they would have hoped given they were 3/160 off 30 overs. Australia did well to restrict Pakistan to 263, Hazlewood the pick of the bowlers.

We'll be back in around half an hour as Australia commences their run chase.

One over to go now and Pakistan sit at 7/256. James Faulkner with the ball in hand for Australia, Rizwan on strike.
