  • His first order of business was to buy his mom a home in central Florida
  • The family grew up in the area after moving there from Haiti
  • On Instagram Joseph told how he had made his mother a promise as a teenager

Oakland Raiders safety Karl Joseph was just 13-years-old when he made a promise to his mother he never knew he'd be able to keep - by promising to buy her a house.

But the footballer, who recently signed a contract worth over $11 million guaranteed, is indeed a man of his word and now, ten years later, he has made good on his teenage pledge.

In an Instagram posting  on Monday, Joseph posted a picture of the new central Florida home he just bought for his mom, along with his eighth grade vow.

'I remember her telling me her dream was to have a big house with a pool, and I Remember in 8th grade telling her I would buy her dream house,” Karl Joseph said in an Instagram post

'I remember her telling me her dream was to have a big house with a pool, and I Remember in 8th grade telling her I would buy her dream house. Definitely one of the most fulfilling moments in my life,' Joseph wrote online.

'Sometime she hate the way she raised me but she love what she raised, can't wait to hand her these house keys with nothing to say', he gushed.

Joseph's agent, Chafie Fields, described his client's unique priorities to TMZ.

-Karl Joseph was a first-round draft pick of the Oakland Raiders last spring, going No. 14 overall out of West Virginia. He played in 13 games and started 11

'He comes from very humble beginnings,' Fields said. 'Ultimately, his goal was being able to provide for his mom.

'He didn't want to buy himself a car. Didn't want to buy himself a house. He wanted to get his mom a house.'

Joseph grew up in central Florida after his family moved there from Haiti.
