So no wonder Christian Bale's wife Sibi was staring lovingly at the actor after he treated her to a slap up meal in Beverly Hills on Wednesday.

The dynamic duo looked in bliss as they stretched their legs after a bumper lunch in the well-heeled area of Los Angeles.

Christian's looked relatively smart, but kept one foot in his treasured hobo chic stylistic mode, by donning a creased black shirt, combat trousers and baseball shoes.

Of course the 42-year-old Welsh hunk will not have minded footing the bill for their fancy lunch, and may have even thrown in a tip, for he has an estimated net worth of $80 million.

His other half was the more aesthetically pleasing of the pair as usual in a form-fitting black top, skinny jeans and flat shoes.

The elegant beauty added a final flourish to her look by donning a trendy patterned scarf.

His outing will certainly put paid to claims he has been avoiding the California sunshine as he prepares to tackle the role of Dracula.

It was claimed in the National Enquirer he was going to dramatic lengths to prepare for a turn as Bram Stoker's famous character in a forthcoming adaptation.

But while such a move would certainly further strengthen the Pembrokeshire-born beefcake's claim to being his generation's Christopher Lee there is a slight problem.

For at this moment in time he has not actually signed up to star as the world's most famous vampire.
