Can I use my qantas ff points with Hawaiian Airlines?

      Staff
      May | January 19, 2017

      Hi Julie,

      Thanks for your question.

Unfortunately, Hawaiian Airlines is not among the partner airlines of Qantas, so I’m afraid you won’t be able to use your Qantas points with them. You can find a list of their partners on this page.

      Cheers,

Do I have to live in Australia to get a long term travel insurance?
    I’m a Canadian resident

      Staff
      Maurice | December 15, 2016

      Hi Jivka,

Generally yes. If you meet certain criteria from the insurer for non-resident applicants, you may be covered for outbound travel up to 12-18 months. It’s a good idea to check directly with an insurer to find out if you’re covered as well as the total duration of your cover.

You might find this page useful.

      I hope this helps,

      Maurice

my husband and I have booked a cruise using our platinum mastercard, are we both covered for health insurance and do we need to let someone know times and dates of the cruise

      Staff
      Stephanie | October 25, 2016

      Hi Susan,

Depending on your card’s terms and conditions you might be eligible for health and/or travel insurance with your booking. You can find more about credit card travel insurance policies here.

It might also be worth contacting your card issuer to confirm your policy and whether it covers your upcoming trip.

      I hope that helps,

      Stephanie

Have heard about incredible snow holiday deals in Colorado for next winter, like $20 U.S. lift tickets/day for 1 adult & up to 4 kids, along with inexpensive on snow accommodations, but can’t find any info.

Also there are apparently last minute fares in early January from Sydney to USA for $1599, but can’t find them either.

A friend said he saw deal on gumtree but can’t find it.

    Any suggestions ?

      Hi Ian,

      Thanks for your question.

I’m unsure where the deals you found were, but for cheap flights a good source is I Want That Flight. Flights from Sydney to Colorado between January and February are around $1200 return.

In terms of ski passes, you might like to look at the official resort site or daily deals websites such as Scoopon and Groupon.

I’m sorry I couldn’t have been of more help.

      Regards,

      Stephanie

I found it. There’s a wholesaler called kiss travel international, who has blocks of seats to USA departing December 29 or January 5. They said they had around 2 dozen seats left at the $1599 price & they said they are advertising them on click frenzy tonight.

They also do all North American ski resorts & yes for $20 U.S. you can get adult passes with kids under 13 years free, when you book 13 nights accommodation. In January & February this starts at $146 U.S. for a 4 star ski in, ski out hotel room.

Book less nights & lifts go up slightly but still incredibly cheap compared to the $146 U.S. you pay at ticket window at resort.

Book 10 nights anytime in season & lifts go up to $22.50 U.S/day/adult (10 days lifts)

Book 7 nights & they go up to $50 U.S./day/adult (7 days lifts).

All lifts come with kids free & a thing called a secret pass which is like a ski school line.

My friend and I are booked to go to Bali on 1 Nov to 14 Nov 2016. I am an HBF member but my friend is not. What would the total of insurance cover be for us. Also is there any other reasonable amounts with any other organisation?

      Staff
      Richard | October 14, 2016

      Hi Fiona,

Thanks for getting in touch. If you’re an HBF member, you’re eligible to Save 19% when you buy your HBF policy online, through their site. finder.com.au is a comparison service and HBF is not currently part of the panel of travel insurance brands we compare. If you would like to compare the brands in our panel, you can do so by entering your travel details into our quote comparison tool.

Could you please give me the best air fare from Melbourne to Cairns on the 30 of January and returning 09 of February 2017.
    Thanks very much!!!

      Staff
      Stephanie | October 9, 2016

      Hi Linda,

      Thanks for your question.

At the time of writing, one of the cheapest options for your dates comes up to $287 return. You can find this fare through I Want That Flight here.

Alternatively, similar flights may be found on Flight Centre here. As Flight Centre has a lowest price guarantee it might be an option to bring this up to see if you can get a better price with them.

      I hope that helps,

      Stephanie

      Hi Oleg,

      Thanks for your inquiry.

If you want to transfer your AMEX Gold Business Card Membership Rewards points to your Velocity frequent flyer account, you’ll need to go online and log into your American Express account and connect your Membership Rewards number with your Velocity frequent flyer.

To check if your points were successfully transferred, you may also log into your Velocity frequent flyer account.

      I hope this is helpful.

      Hi Jenny,
      Thanks for your question.
You can use one of the booking engines on this page to search for cheap flights on your route.
As you are travelling during high season, return flights to Athens are close to $2000 return. You can search for the cheapest ones through I Want That Flight here.
      Hope that helps,
      Stephanie
