President-elect Donald Trump and his transition team have been working since Election Day to assemble his cabinet and appoint key staff ahead of Inauguration Day on Jan. 20, 2017.

Vice president–elect Mike Pence has led the transition team since taking over for New Jersey Governor Chris Christie shortly after the election.  Other key figures on his transition team are former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani, former House Speaker Newt Gingrich and Trump's children, Donald Trump Jr., Eric Trump and Ivanka Trump, along with her husband, Jared Kushner.

Trump’s choices for Presidential Cabinet include: Senator Jeff Sessions for Attorney General, Betty DeVos as Secretary of Education, Steve Mnuchin as Secretary of Treasury, Wilbur Ross as Secretary of Commerce, Elaine Chao as Secretary of Transportation, Rex Tillerson as Secretary of State, James Mattis as Secretary of Defense,  Andrew Puzder as Secretary of Labor, Rep. Tom Price as Secretary of Health and Human Resources, Dr. Ben Carson as Secretary of Housing and Urban Development, Gov. Rick Perry as Secretary of Energy, Retired Gen. John Kelly as Secretary of Homeland Security, Scott Pruitt as Environmental Protection Agency Administrator, Rep. Ryan Zinke as Secretary of The Interior, Linda McMahon as Admistrator of Small Business Administrator. 

Trump's choices for his staff and other key picks include: Reince Priebus as Chief of Staff, Stephen Bannon as Chief Strategist and Senior Counselor, Kellyanne Conway as Counselor to the President, Rep. Mike Pompeo as CIA Director, Lt. Michael Flynn as National Security Adviser, Donald McGahn as White House Counsel, Seerma Verma as Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services Administrator, Sean Spicer as Press Secretary, Donald McGahn as White House Counsel, Thomas Bossert as Assistant to the President for Homeland Security
