Many believe that LeBron James could make it in the NFL, but former Rangers coach John Tortorella thinks the NBA superstar would drown on the ice.

Tortorella, who now coaches the Columbus blue Jackets in James' hometown, told CBS Cleveland's Keith Britton there's no way James would be able to make it in hockey because of his large size.

"Not a chance. He can't skate. He's too damn big, he can't skate. And you can tell him I said that, I challenge him," Tortorella said. "Tell him to get his a-- out here and come on the ice with us, I want to see him skate."

Britton said Tortorella was having fun with the question and didn't have a negative tone when he was asked how James would be in the NHL.

This question has come up from time to time as many have wondered if James could excel in other sports because of his physical attributes.

The Blue Jackets are currently not in the need of James' services.

Tortorella has got his coaching mojo back this season and has turned the Blue Jackets into one of the best teams in the league.

Columbus is currently in first place in the Metropolitan division with a record of 30-9-4. They're also tied with the Capitals for the most points in the league with 64.
