Anything similar out there to Sex, Lies And Rinsing Guys? Possibly other shows that look at this phenomenon in other countries such as the US or China?

[–]wwader 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been looking for Exit Node for a while http://exitnode-film.com/

[–]miraoister 1 point2 points  (1 child)

MODS!

Please can we ban "self-published" videos from youtube, these informative yet homade documentaries are great for /r/mealtimevideos but they arent documentaries.

today there is one on Lego and another about life in japan which is simply a v-blog.

they really ruin the sub and tone down the level of quality.

[–]teadalek 1 point2 points  (1 child)

I'm looking for Ghostwatch: Behind the Curtains, 2012 documentary about the 1992 haunting hoax by the BBC. Happy Halloween!

[–]torto22 0 points1 point  (1 child)

There was a documentary that was made of what seemed to be youtube videos from around the world, just little slices of life videos, that was compiled and aired at one film festival or another. It's driving me insane that I can't remember what it's called, because I really enjoyed it. Any info is appreciated

Why are so many videos that are not documentaries being allowed on this subreddit lately?

[–]cojoco[S] 0 points1 point  (4 children)

If you're talking about this:

https://www.reddit.com/r/Documentaries/comments/5a3n5u/in_2003_by_far_the_most_articulate_well_spoken/

it's because it gained traction before any of the mods noticed.

It's similar to a documentary, and it has a lot of interested people commenting, so it seemed a shame to remove it.

But please report such incidents when you see them, if they're removed early it saves embarrassment.

[–]miraoister 0 points1 point  (1 child)

nothing makes me worry more than poor titles on this sub. im sure the OP must of been high when he posted that.

I am looking for a particular documentary on genocide. I don't remember what it was called, but it focused on the psychology of genocide and was told from the point of view of the perpetrators. It had parts on the Nazis, but it also had interview of death squad members from the Balkans - Kosovo from memory, but I could be mistaken. I remember a quote from the Balkans killers - one envied "people who live dull ordinary lives". Not sure if anyone can help me find this documentary, but thanks in advance.

[–]berserker59 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would like to watch a documentary about California prior to 1850. Specifically the Mexican period between 1822 and 1846(?) There is quite a bit about the Missions, but not to much about the culture, food, customs, and the confrontations between the extranjeros and the Californios.

[–]sunofagun22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im looking for a documentary that I'v already seen about Israeli suburbs being built in Palestine, with less intent on occupation, but rather a focus on building quiet (new urbanist) communities. I though vice produced it, though I can't find it. If anyone know what it's call and who produces it, it would be very helpful.

[–]cobblestati 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm interested in a documentary that aired on the BBC in 2004 called "Your Life in Their Hands" Henry Marsh. It was done by the same director and covers the same Doctor from The English Surgeon documentary(one of my favorites).

Edit: Update it looks like it was a three part documentary covering three different surgeons. I would be interested in finding all three documentaries.

Anyone seen a link for DOOMED! The Untold Story of Roger Corman's "The Fantastic Four"?

[–]mkramh 0 points1 point  (5 children)

Does anyone know any good documentaries concerning art/artists?

[–]half_truths_at_best 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Try Orson Welles' fantastic documentary/illusion F For Fake which is about an art forger, but told in a really interesting, meta way.

Or Tims Vermeer about someone trying to understand the painting techniques of Vermeer (who did the Girl With the Pearl Earring painting).

Perhaps also try Werner Herzog's amazing Cave Of Forgotten Dreams which is about the earliest known cave paintings. As may be expected it goes off on some tangents, but it's interesting and has absolutely stunning imagery; it sounds ridiculous, but it's probably worth seeing in 3d if you get the chance.

For something more modern, Banksy's Exit Through The Gift Shop is an interesting look at street art, and the way that it's marketed & sold. I'm not entirely clear on how much of it is 'real' but it's certainly interesting.

I've not seen it yet, but Frederick Wiseman did a recent movie about the National Gallery in London. His films won't be for everyone; they tend to be long, slow, and without much to-audience explanation, but if you like that sort of thing I have little doubt it willl be a great portrait of a great art gallery.

I'm not sure if you're also interested in product design, but if so, the recent documentary Objectified might also be of interest. It's not the most exciting (in terms of subject or approach), but it's interesting.

[–]dcantagallo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On a related note, John Berger did a BBC series based on his influential book in the 70s, "Ways of Seeing", which is not about art, but the way we look at art:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0pDE4VX_9Kk

[–]mkramh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thaks you for that detailed anwser! I've seen few of them but Tim's Vermeer is definitely something to discover...

[–]marabelec 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi everyone. I am looking for some historical documentary on the life of the prophet Mohammed, as critical and as secular as possible. It seems there is not a lot of material like that out there. I have tried the PBS and the BBC ones but they are way too biased (the later even starts with the "peace be upon him" thing, so I am not to convinced of its historical value).

Thanks a lot in advance.

[–]LilPeterMeterMaid 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Can anyone help me find some more documentaries that are ocean/marine life related that are kind of similar to blackfish or the cove???

[–]dcantagallo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Racing to Extinction, same director as The Cove, and a continuation of themes. HBO's Unlocking The Cage about case for legal personhood of chimpanzees (not sure if available yet digitally).

Anything relating to top restaurants or chefs similar to Noma / Ants on a Shrimp / Chef's Table?

[–]half_truths_at_best 2 points3 points  (1 child)

A Matter of Taste is a really interesting documentary about a critical darling (but difficult perfectionist/boss) Paul Lieberant, as he tries to set up a new restaurant in New York. It was really interesting, showing both time in the kitchen, as well as the massive effort it takes to set up a new high-end restaurant. While it's difficult to know for certain, it didn't seem to go too easy on Paul, so it didn't just feel like a puff piece.

In a slightly different tone, I'd strongly recommend Kings of Pastry by documentary filmmaker star DA Pennebaker (The War Room and Don't Look Back). It's about a pastry competition that takes place in France every four years. While that may sound boring, it's a huge deal, taking place over a few days, with months of preparation. I don't want to spoil anything, but I will say that as the competition picks up it's as tense as any traditional sports documentary.

Finally, two that I haven't seen;

Jiro Dreams of Sushi is about a 3 michelin starred sushi chef in Tokyo, and is supposed to be excellent, and...

I've not heard too much about El Bulli, but given the subject matter (El Bulli was widely regarded as the best restaurant in the world, until it closed to become a cullinary school a few years back, handing the title to places like Noma and The Fat Duck) it should be really interesting for anyone interested in molecular gastronomy.

edit Thanks very much for the gold! I hope you enjoy the films.

[–]Rhymnocerus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My friend, this is a fantastic response. Thank you for the time and effort and the overall consideration you put into explaining the films as well.

[–]Xdexter23 1 point2 points  (2 children)

Blood From A Stone In 1988, Yaron Svoray began covertly searching the forest hills outside an ancient walled village along the French-German border, hunting for a treasure in uncut diamonds buried in a foxhole by two American GIs in 1945--a treasure that carried a curse. During Yaron's 10-year hunt, he tracked the diamonds from South African mines to European diamond centers, from ghettos to death camps--and experienced something far greater and life altering than the riches that motivated his quest. Based on his book.

Can anyone throw a great documentary about the American frontier/wild west my way? Something that embodies the entire era (late 18th century to early 20th) would be perfect.

    [–]SubUmbra 1 point2 points  (3 children)

    Hi there r/documentaries,

Any recommendations for cultural geography docs, especially in the U.S.?

Think "Blue Highways" but in video form, of course.

Anything that covers the cultural/historical distinctions of particular regions or the U.S., or basically any sort of U.S. travelogue.

    [–]BonerJams1703 2 points3 points  (2 children)

What are some of the best Crime documentaries:

I loved Making a Murderer, the Robert Durst one and Paradise Lost.

    Anymore like these?

    [–]half_truths_at_best 2 points3 points  (1 child)

Death on the staircase is fantastic. It's a little longer I think (a few episodes), but really interesting story.

There's another by the same guy called Murder On A Sunday Morning about a miscarriage of justice similar to Paradise Lost. I probably preferred this to Death on the Staircase, but both are interesting.

Even though you've seen Paradise you might enjoy West of Memphis, especially if you haven't seen the entire Paradise Lost trilogy. If you just saw PL1, then West of Memphis covers a later part of the story.

The absolute grand daddy of that sort of doc is Errol Morris's amazing The Thin Blue Line. It's aged a little bit still really interesting, and well worth a watch.

Finally, you might also want to give the excellent Capturing the Friedmans a watch. Bear in mind that the subject matter is very unpalatable (child abuse) so it's not for everyone. However, it's an interesting doc about more than 'just' the crime; it's also about memory and the uncertainty of truth.

    [–]BonerJams1703 1 point2 points  (0 children)

    The grittier the better.

Thanks for that. I've seen all the paradise losts, I just can't seem to find a way to watch west of Memphis without buying it.

The ones you mentioned are the ones that keep coming up. I have a list and every one you mentioned is on there.

I watched The Imposter last night. Solid. Started Thin Blue Line but didn't finish it yet.

    [–]lularamone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, anybody knows any good doc on Richard Chase, the vampire of Sacramento?

    [–]WriterlyWraith 1 point2 points  (2 children)

I'm still searching for Stacker, the cupstacking/speed stacking doc that came out in 2013. If anyone has a link, I'd greatly appreciate it!

I'm also looking for any docs about converts to any form of Judaism, and docs about American defectors to socialist countries, especially those living in Cuba. I've already seen Crossing the Line.

Can you help me find a documentary about a british guy in Japan that befriended the Yakuzas? the facts that I know are that he joined them in very expensive places which they payed, also they gave him a tattoo and as a farewell gift when he was about to return to UK they gave him a japanesse 'massage girl' who went into his bathroom, pooped and then she ate it...

It's possible that the details are wrong, a friend of mine saw it somewhere but can't remember the name, so it's even possible that he's trolling me. Thanks!

A few years ago I watched a video about a war photographer. Part of the video showed how the person who develops the photos works in a dark room with a huge projector to manually produce the photos. Anybody knows which video I'm talking about?

    [–]half_truths_at_best 4 points5 points  (2 children)

A couple spring to mind, I don't remember the details but could it be one of these War Photographer, about James Nachtwey, or McCullin about Don McCullin?

Was it definitely just about war photography? If not, I seem to recall a doc about the Bang Bang Club (the photography group that Kevin Carter was a part of), although I can't find it online, and there was a BBC/Channel 4 series a few years that focussed on photography, with lots of interviews with famous photographers. It included other aspects of photography if I remember it correctly (e.g. art or fashion), but had some interviews with war photographers/photojournalists.

What are some good documentaries on horror movies? I want some to incorporate in to a Halloween marathon.

    [–]lularamone 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Hey buddy. There's this good doc on horro movies in general:

    http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1337117/

And there's this GREAT doc about the whole Freddy Krueger franchise. Personal note on this as a horror genre fan, it's REALLY great:

    http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1510985/

And plus, this last one is about 4 hours long, so this should boost your marathon quite a bit. But if not, it's easily dividable between films, so you can pick and choose.

    They're both on American Netflix!

    Hope it helps!

    [–]Jedi_Knight_rambo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've seen Nightmares in Red, White and Blue, and I own Never Sleep Again. You're right, they're both fantastic, and both of them are part of my marathon.

    [–]mikerhoa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really a doc, but Channel Criswell made a neat little video essay on modern horror:

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0cryX-ZU1h0

There's also Leviathan about the Hellraiser films:

    http://bloody-disgusting.com/home-video/3342200/leviathan-story-hellraiser-doc-arrives-home-video/

And then there's Why Horror? which tells examines horror fandom in general:

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XzEzcjETxws

    [–]jbjamfest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you like the Scream franchise (just the films), then Still Screaming is very good: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jc7npWd3Xpc Better than Scream - The Inside Story, although that also has some interesting tidbits: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s09lUFbgc-w I also watched Nightmares in Red, White, and Blue (about American horror films in general) recently which was quite good, but I don't have a link I'm afraid.

    [–]half_truths_at_best 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There was an excellent three-part series about the history of horror films on the bbc a few years ago. Interesting, and there should be new recommendations for all but the most knowledgeable horror movie buffs: The history of horror

Hi there, I'm looking for documentaries on mountaineering / mountain exploration that aren't on Netflix. I've recently been enjoying learning about the history of mountaineering, and the stories of the early pioneers of the sport.

    [–]half_truths_at_best 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't have Netflix, so don't know if these are on there or not, but a couple of recommendations; Touching the Void, and last years Sherpa.

    [–]lularamone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, is there any good docs on the Lake Bodom Murders?

    [–]Justwritingstuff 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Can anyone recommend the best Filmbuff documentaries on Netflix and Amazon prime? I don't think I've ever seen a flimbuff movie I didn't like but can't figure out a way to search for them using either of the two services' search bars.

    [–]the_eyes 0 points1 point  (1 child)

When you say film buff, do you mean "film maker films" or just behind the scenes stuff?

    [–]Justwritingstuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its actually an independent film company. Check out their stuff. It's rad!

Has there been made anything yet on the trend of dangerous "surgeries" where people fill their bodies with cooking oils and concrete to achieve some sort of beauty image?

    [–]Gioby 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Does anybody know where I can find the new Magnus carlsen movie ? Or other documentaries about chess ? Thank you

    [–]greatyokes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bobby Fischer Against the World is brilliant if you haven't seen it

    [–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Two or three years ago I felt like we were going to begin to see a flood of new and great documentaries.
It seems like the genre was on the verge of exploding. However it feels now like I may have been wrong (no surprise as I'm rarely right about anything).
One problem in my eyes is the number of doc's about the same or very similar issues.
Am I completely off base or does anyone else feel the same.
By the way this is not me criticizing this sub at all, love this sub.
One other thing, if I'm posting in the wrong place I apologize in advance.

Looking for any docs on how automation has effected industry, possibly including predictions on future automation's effects on white collar jobs / the professions.

    [–]Wuzzie 0 points1 point  (2 children)

I'm looking for a documentary series about how severe weather impacted battles in the ancient times.

Like how rain and mud caused problems with assaults and such.

I don't remember the name of the series, but i think it aired on History channel.

Edit: Remembered the name now. Weather that changed the world.

    [–]cojoco[S] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

    [–]Wuzzie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I watched that earlier. Pretty good documentary, and although i'm unsure about the spoiler-rules when it comes to documentaries... Had it been a sunny day, the battle may have ended differently.

Does anyone know the nature doc on the eagles of the Empire State Building titled, "Sentinels"?

Long ago, I saw a nature documentary short on the lives of the eagles that live on top of the Empire State Building. How they nest, avoid the sun, and generally live their lives.

It was amazing. I have searched everywhere, including the central library in New York, Google, you name it, and I cannot find it.

It's called "Sentinels." Unfortunately, that's all I know. Does anyone here know anything about this film? I would be very grateful for information.

    [–]feedblender 0 points1 point  (1 child)

What are some documentaries similar in subject matter to The Square and Winter On Fire? I'm very interested in this modern day revolution stuff

    [–]dcantagallo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A Revolution in Four Seasons is about Tunisia and Arab Spring. http://revolutioninfourseasons.com/

    [–]calhaem 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Saw a documentary years ago about life on Earth after humanity went extinct. One distinct thing I remember is spiders in canyons eating flying mammals or something along those lines. I probably watched this around 2010, maybe? Thanks all!

    [–]MissVancouver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

    Sounds like Life After Humans.

    [–]fweng 40 points41 points  (1 child)

Can we PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE stop this recent trend of three or four minute youtube videos being posted here? There has been an increase of these things which are about as far removed from a documentary as you can get. I'm not saying they're not interesting or not valid in their own right, but they need their own sub. Personally, I'm here for actual documentaries of at least half an hour plus as has tended to be the case, with the occasional trailer thrown in. Anyone else feel the same?

    [–]arbaard 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Some subjects just don't merit a full 30 minutes, and it's not like this sub is a whirlwind of activity either. Most of the new posts are just a bunch of reposts of flat-earth insanity and alien conspiracy theories. Some of my favorite docs on here have been in the 5-20 minute range.

Just don't watch them if you're not interested in them. You know, like I don't watch 6 hour flat-earth documentaries. They're not burying the content you want to see.

    [–]Shizly 0 points1 point  (3 children)

Suggestions for a documentary on Nepal? I'm going to travel to Nepal next year and am looking for some nature/history/every-day-life documentaries. So far the only documentaries I could find are based around Mt. Everest, earthquake disasters and orphanages.

    [–]didcotton 1 point2 points  (1 child)

    [–]Shizly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the tip! I'll check it out.

    [–]WaylonWillie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't believe this full film is online anywhere, but this film by filmmaker Kesang Tseten is beautiful, insightful, and well made. If you have a library nearby perhaps you could get it via interlibrary loan:

    [–]mikelowski 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm looking for a doc I saw some years ago about happiness and sources of it, one of them being beauty. There was an actress/model talking about how easy things were for her due to her looks, she never was dumped, always could have the man she wanted, etc.

    [–]rasterbee 4 points5 points  (0 children)

    How about a bad documentary?

One that arrives at a delusional conclusion? One that advocates a factually incorrect point-of-view? Or pushes a morally wrong agenda?

An odd request, yes. I've watched a fair majority of all the regularly suggested good ones out there, I'd like to laugh at a little bit of crap now and again.

Nothing about modern politics, if that's possible. And something with a little more substance than a Youtube search for Illuminati would turn up?

    [–]komnenos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does anyone know any good documentaries on Swiss history, military, the economy, day to day life or the government?

    Thanks!

    [–]phxhrt 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Any good ones on life in ancient Rome or medieval England?

    [–]sixtyonesymbols 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Any good documentaries on microbial life?

I'm looking for something like this but perhaps more detailed.

    [–]resounding_maybe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Any idea how to see either Smile 'Til It Hurts: The Up With People Story or Death of WAG?

    [–]HankHillPropaniac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anyone have a stream for The Sweatbox? It's a documentary about Sting working with Disney writers and animators on what was the original emperors new groove when it was a deep movie.

    [–]CynicaIFucker 2 points3 points  (3 children)

does anyone know of any documentaries that actually uncover something? or make any ground breaking discoveries as a result of filming?

I watched "hunting the nazi gold train" which hypothesised there were unfound treasures in a hidden tunnel from the nazi regime in poland. it turned out nothing was found but it was still interesting.

i was wondering if there are documentaries which actually make the discovery or reveal new evidence etc as a result of their investigation?

    thanks

    [–]KlimKlam 1 point2 points  (2 children)

Yeah, Cleopatra's Lost Tomb with Kathleen Martinez

    [–]CynicaIFucker 0 points1 point  (1 child)

great, i'll check it out mate

    [–]MissVancouver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That one is really good. I loved her personal story almost as much as her hunt for Cleopatra.

    [–]gusmt 1 point2 points  (2 children)

Any suggestions for documentaries series? I watched and enjoyed The Internet Ruined My Life; Dark Net and Making a Murderer.

    [–]half_truths_at_best 4 points5 points  (1 child)

If you're talking about a series covering a single story, rather than a series which has, mini docs on a number of different topics try HBOs The Jinx which is a six part doc on the crazy Robert Durst story. The story is mad, so probably best to go in cold rather than reading up about it if you can.

Similarly, Death on the Staircase is an interesting crime doc series.

If you want something different to crime, try the magnificent The Century of the Self which is a wonderful series looking at the links between psychoanalysis and marketing. The synopsis makes it sound boring, but director Adam Curtis makes films with real energy; it's more like a kinetic mix tape, with lots of audio & video clips that build up towards his thesis. You should be able to find it easily online (it hasn't been legally released on DVD/BluRay because of the issue of the licesnse to all the clips he uses), and I'd highly recommend it.

    [–]gusmt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not into crime really, although "Making..." was very good. "The Century..." has an interesting topic and looks very promising. Thank you very much.

    [–]happytda 0 points1 point  (4 children)

I'm trying to get into documentaries but I don't know why to start

    [–]KlimKlam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, also Louis Theroux. His newest work just came out, but I love everything he's done.

    [–]KlimKlam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Start with anything by David Attenborough, he is a legend and a treasure, and I want him to adopt me and be my grandad. You can find some of his work on Netflix :)

    [–]cojoco[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Think of it as an investment in your future self, and the stellar human being you'll become with all of that extra knowledge.

I'm rewatching Wild China after having watched the first couple episodes a couple years ago. It's awesome in many ways, but it has something that I've not seen much in docs(though my "experience" is limited in some ways).

It doesn't feel like a pure, "this is about nature" doc, but it's also very far away from "this is about people". I'm used to documentaries that focus heavily on one, and I'd LOVE to find more like Wild China that seems to focus on humans interacting with nature, whether it be climate & animal & plant etc life.

The fact that little birds going to next inside the farmhouse signifies to these people when the seasons change, for example, is just so cool to me. The fishing with birds with string around their neck so they can't swallow the fish is crazy, too.

As a bit of a narrower focus, I'm super interested in how rural(or even ancient) communities in and around the middle east live(d).

    [–]Radioman_70 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Does anyone know of any docs covering Sophie Scholl or The White Rose anti-Nazi resistance group? I've searched around a bit and came up empty-handed, but figured someone else might have some ideas.

    [–]firsttime_longtime 5 points6 points  (4 children)

I once stumbled upon a subreddit that was essentially short documentaries that could be watched in like 15 minutes or less.

Does anyone here know the subreddit I am referring to?

    [–]cojoco[S] 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Not sure, but there is no time limit for docos submitted here.

    [–]MethUseMcConaughey 2 points3 points  (6 children)

I've been wondering if there'a special name for these 60-minute documentaries you would see on tv?

It's hard to describe, but most documentaries you'd find on top-ten lists and favorites list seem to be more artistic, 1 hour + documentaries. If that makes sense.

I'm looking for those sort of documentaries about random things that you would find on TV. Ones that are "purely information".

I don't know if this makes sense. I'm just having a hard time finding stuff like this. Of course, If I were to turn on the TV there would be one running right now probably, but I'd rather go look for one that'd interest me. Problem being, that I don't know how to search for them. As most popular documentaries are not that.

    Does this make sense?

    [–]KirbzS1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure if this is what you're looking for, but there is a TV show on CBS called 60 minutes, and it goes in depth and shows many interviews on current topics. Not so much old stuff, but current affairs and out of US stuff.

    [–]dcantagallo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are probably thinking of factual programs and/or factual series. Many documentaries, especially international, often have both a feature-length theatrical version and a 1HR broadcast version.

    [–]sjalava 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Are you thinking about something like PBS Frontline, where it is usually about an hour of information on current events or historical people/events or interesting stories. You can watch a TON of them on their website. Canada's CBC has something called the Fifth Estate which is similar. Is that what you mean?

    [–]MethUseMcConaughey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, like that. Those 1-hour of pure information about for example some roman or roman building or some viking or some samurai or some WW event or a piece of machinery. Stuff like that (only mentioned the obvious just now). Usually purely informational and made for TV. Which gives it that different feel to other "full-length"-Documentaries (for lack of a better word). Who often focus on visual aspects, or are investigative or are more political.

I'm just looking for the simple kind.

Thank you for the recommendation! I'll look that up, that sounds excatly like what I asked for!

Was just wondering if there's a name for them, so I can make searching (and searching for the good ones) easier, since I'm not from the US/Can/UK and would love to easily search their media for these kind of documentaries.
