An underrated, hidden gem

Mad Max by Avalanche Studios and WB Games brings us a hybrid of Just Cause 3's gorgeous open world, mayhem, and explosions; while also nearly mimicking the Lord of the Rings: Shadow of Mordor's fighting mechanics. Raiding the enemies all on Max's lonesome is a lot of fun! Random small acts of kindness to dehydrated wanderers of the wasteland is probably the only thing that made me feel good about living and surviving in a post-apocalyptic wasteland (which I hope that Avalanche.Studios and WB Games will work on a sequel to this amazing game that had gone under most people's radars and carry over Max' journey into the next one). The random storms are as intense driving through, while trying to find shelter, evading enemies and looting the special crates that nature's fury throws at you; as these storms are hauntingly beautiful (if you love thunderstorms as I do). The leveling up is fun to, as Max becomes stronger than Scrotus Scabbus. This is one that should be not be missed!!!

Can't Recommend Enough

Mad Max is one of the few games I wish I could forget I played, just to experience it for the first time again. The graphics are beautiful, with a dark but very fitting storyline. I loved the car customization, and the map is enormous, with more than enough locations to explore. It's like they took all four movies and mashed them together into a separate, but equally interesting, story (along with some satisfying references to the films). My only critique is that some of the features are relatively simple, and could've been expanded upon. Overall, it's hugely underrated game. A must-buy.

surprisingly addictive

imagine borderlands with very limited ammo or weapons meets arkham city hand to hand combat meets nfs undercover vehicle combat/ramming.....yet this game totally works....addictive and fun...i wouldve given a 5star rating but the graphics are a bit dull....the whole gm is practically one brownish yellow tone.....just wish it wouldve looked as good as it is fun....controls are a lil wonky too....if 4.5 rating was possible id give it as rating

great

This game is immersive, fun, and vast. The many car options makes this game very customizable. It has a linear story that for the most part is enjoyable, though a few features are wonk. If you want a triple a quality game for 20$ this is the game for you. Just don't expect to be playing much after you've MAXed your car and beaten the story.

GREAT GAME OVERALL!!!!

Mad Max does a fantastic job of making the Mad Max universe realistic and a very competent third person fighting/driving game with shooting too.Huge map with tons of different objectives and missions. Not much of variety in the different locations throughout the huge world. But it is supposed to take place in a post-apocalyptic wasteland, just like the movie.DEFINITELY A MUST HAVE FOR MAD MAX FANS!!!!!!

Mad Max: The Fury Road Warrior

I've been a fan of the film series for years and love them dearly and with Fury Road being absolutely amazing, this game is a counterpiece for the film. The game does the post-apocalyptic nuclear wasteland to a fine point. This is more authentic than Fallout 4 even though they're different genres of gameplay and style. The game emphasizes so heavily on cars and car battle that it's hard not to want to pick a fight with a War Boy or a Buzzard in their car. It takes some time to get to where you want as far as strength against other cars and enemies on melee combat but once you got the upgrades then you are not to be messed with. I feel this game is vastly underrated, but it's nice to see that there's a large number of people who enjoy this which made me feel better. I highly recommend this to people who love open world games that focuses on cars and post-apocalyptic wastelands.

Underated Great Game!

I never thought this open world Mad Max is more immersive and fluid than Fallout 4 and ReCore combined, the latter have the worst loading time ever and crashes; yet, I bought this on sale. The AI is more realistic and solid. I wish the developer would release a Season Pass to extend the story and map. The marketing for this game is inadequate, if only they had an early demo and more catchy original game title. The remake movie was generic, as I'm more of a fan on the classic Mel Gibson back in the 80's. Great game! I'll buy the Season pass if ever reconsidered or a sequel (more maps and Stronghold, projectile weapons, cars to drive and upgrade, a new female driver character>Hope, and tons of mega explosions). 10/10 score.

Diamond in the Wasteland Rough

I bought this game at the $20 price. Great graphics, solid gameplay, and good story make this a gem too good to pass up. Roaming the open world is spectacular. Upgrades to the Magnum Opus allows you to sense the power of driving that beast. Driving is matched with combat, exploration, scavenging, and story. Customize to your liking. I like getting the back story through relics you find. Those clues piece together how things came to be without having over-bearing cutscenes. My only complaints are the camera, random lagging, and the creepy ashed mechanic when he said he wanted some alone time with the socket wrench. "A" for original dialogue though. This game is more than a modern remake without Mel in it. This is deserving of your time and money where brutallity and survival become art you interact with.

Game is a hidden gem!

I wasn't expecting much, then BOOM, hit with beautiful graphics, smooth character movements and combat, and lots to explore and customize. It's like Borderlands+Tomb Raider+open world offroad racing game. 9/10

Fantastic Story But Has Some Problems

The story is fantastic! Constant action keeps the game flowing! My only problem is that the story seems like a speed bump for Max and it didn't really matter. Other missions start to get repetitive and start to seem pointless. There is also some hug lag spikes that just happen for no reason. I would give this game a 8.2/10. Great graphics and story. but no real reason to play after finishing the story.
