Belmont Mansion may refer to:
A mansion is a large dwelling house.
The word itself derives (through Old French) from the Latin word mansio "dwelling", an abstract noun derived from the verb manere "to dwell". The English word "manse" originally defined a property large enough for the parish priest to maintain himself, but a mansion is no longer self-sustaining in this way (compare a Roman or medieval villa). 'Manor' comes from the same root—territorial holdings granted to a lord who would remain there—hence it is easy to see how the word 'Mansion' came to have its meaning.
Within an ancient Roman city, patrician dwellings might be very extensive, and luxurious. Such mansions on one hill in Rome became so extensive that the term palatial was actually derived from the name Palatine hill and is the etymological origin of "palace".
Following the fall of Rome the practice of building unfortified villas ceased. Today, the oldest inhabited mansions around the world usually began their existence as fortified castles in the middle ages. As social conditions slowly changed and stabilised fortifications were able to be reduced, and over the centuries gave way to comfort. It became fashionable and possible for homes to be beautiful rather than grim and forbidding allowing for the development of the modern mansion.

"When Simon's Quest dropped on the NES in 1988, many gamers were confused. The gameplay mechanics of the original Castlevania remained intact, but there was a whole lot more that had been added that transferred it from the realm of action-platformer to the realm of action-RPG. Gamers' apprehension quickly dissipated, though, when what resulted was an amazing game full of an inordinate amount of depth. Simon's Quest took you away from the all-too-familiar atmosphere of Dracula's castle and instead set you loose in an Eastern European locale full of mysterious villages, haunted mansions and, ultimately, the remnants of the castle Simon Belmont destroyed in the original. Simon earned experience points for killing enemies and collecting money to buy new goods. An item-based menu allowed you to...
I do an enormous amount of video work shooting and editing. One of the best parts of shooting weddings, besides being a part of one of the most important days in a person's life, is capturing unique moments only seen at a wedding such as the unique belly dance performed by the bride as seen in this video. This event was in December 2004 at the Ralston Hall Mansion on the campus of Notre Dame de Namur University in Belmont, California.
