Consumer advocate group CHOICE has released their latest round of test results on popular stain removers. The test took into consideration four key stain groups:

  • Perspiration: the most common household stain, this accounted for 25 per cent of the final score
  • Grass/mud: a very common occurrence in Aussie households, this group was worth 20 per cent of the final score
  • Olive oil: everyday splatter from cooking means this type of stain contributes to 20 per cent of the final score
  • Baby food: taking into account the many young families around Australia, baby food was worth per cent of the final score

The other stains tested included chocolate ice cream, makeup, tomato, and blood. After exhaustive tests, the results are in, and the top five performing stain removers are:

1. White King Stain Remover for White Whites: 74 per cent

  • Perspiration: 70 per cent
  • Grass/mud: 76 per cent
  • Olive oil: 79 per cent
  • Baby food: 91 per cent

2. Di San Oxy Action with Enzymes Pre Wash Stain Remover: 72 per cent

  • Perspiration: 79 per cent
  • Grass/mud: 60 per cent
  • Olive oil: 75 per cent
  • Baby food: 43 per cent

3. Vanish NapiSan Gold Oxi Action: 72 per cent

  • Perspiration: 72 per cent
  • Grass/mud: 76 per cent
  • Olive oil: 77 per cent
  • Baby food: 86 per cent

4. Sard Wonder OxyPlus Power Stain Remover Antibacterial Soaker: 71 per cent

  • Perspiration: 75 per cent
  • Grass/mud: 79 per cent
  • Olive oil: 70 per cent
  • Baby food: 75 per cent

5. Eco Store Ultra Sensitive Laundry Soaker and Stain Remover: 71 per cent

  • Perspiration: 79 per cent
  • Grass/mud: 70 per cent
  • Olive oil: 70 per cent
  • Baby food: 93 per cent
