Police are searching the former Huntingdale home of the man charged with the Claremont serial killer murders of Jane Rimmer and Ciara Glennon.
Bradley Robert Edwards lived at the home in Fountain Way between 1991 to 1997 - during the years in which he is accused of carrying out the Claremont killings.
It's understood he lived at the home at the time he allegedly abducted and raped a 17-year-old girl at Karrakatta Cemetery in 1995.
Nine reporter Renae Henry said police searched the home extensively at the time of Mr Edwards' arrests.
"Officers arrived at 9am and we saw them bring a ladder in with them and we know they have set up a forensic base in the backyard," she told Radio 6PR on Wednesday afternoon.
"It's difficult to see exactly what they are doing back there.
"Neighbours have told us they have seen forensic crews coming and going all day and they even saw forensic police on the roof searching gutters for whatever reason."
Mr Edwards was charged last month with the abduction and murders of Jane Rimmer, 23, and Ciara Glennon, 27, in 1996 and 1997 respectively.
He has also been charged with the rape of a 17-year-old girl in Claremont in 1995, and the indecent assault of an 18-year-old woman in a Huntingdale home in 1988.
The 48-year-old Kewdale man remained silent during the brief court appearance on December 23 and was remanded in custody until his next appearance at Stirling Gardens Magistrates Court on January 25.
He has not been charged in relation to the suspected murder of Sarah Spiers after she disappeared from a nightclub in Claremont in 1996. Her body has never been found.
Mr Edwards' Kewdale home, which he bought in July 2000 - three years after Ms Glennon's body was found - was raided by police on in the early hours of December 22, with several bags of evidence taken away.
His parents' house in Madora Bay was also searched on Christmas Eve, although the house is believed to have been a rental property for some time.
The former Telstra technician lived in the Kewdale home with his adult step-daughter and was the former president of a Perth little athletics club.
In 2013, Mr Edwards and his wife at the time were awarded life memberships at Kewdale Little Athletics Club and Mr Edwards has held several positions with the sporting faculty, including president at the Belmont Little Athletics Centre in 2008.
