A 17-year-old girl was choked and had her purse stolen at a party in Footscray last month.
The teenager told police she attended a party on the Maribyrnong River, near Joseph Street, on December 12, a police spokeswoman said.
About 12.30am a number of unknown people gate-crashed the party.
The 17-year-old was choked "from behind by an unknown person and had her purse stolen", the spokeswoman said.
She said the man used the victim's stolen credit card at a nearby service station on Whitehall Street, a short time after the attack. He was wearing a red basketball top and a red Ferrari cap.
