At $333 million this LA mansion is the most expensive house for sale in the US

If there was an actual prince living in Bel Air this might be the place he’d choose as his palace – the most expensive home for sale in the USA. The white-and-glass walled California mansion has come onto the market at an impressive $US250 million ($333 million).

The 12-bedroom, 21-bathroom luxury estate took four years to build, with 3530 square metres of floor space, three kitchens, an ‘auto gallery’ with $US30 million worth of luxury cars including a unique Pagani Huayra priced at $2 million alone, 100 art installations, a James Bond-themed home theatre, a bowling alley, a games room with a candy wall and – yes, we’re still going – massage studio, gym and 25-metre infinity pool.

And the largest TV found in a residential home, at around nine metres. And aligator-skin lined commercial elevators. And a helicopter from the television series ‘Airwolf’, although apparently it’s deactivated.

It’s from property developer Bruce Makowsky, who’s also behind the $US70 million, 2071-square-metre mansion picked up by Minecraft developer Markus Persson in in January 2015.

Makowsky, who has a fashion background, told CNBC that he “wanted to break all the moulds. The level of quality and attention to detail in this house is unsurpassed. And I wanted to create the greatest feeling that you can have being at home.”

“There is no way anyone could have a bad day in this house.”

The property is listed through several agents.
