ASX extends losses as Trump rally unwinds

Local shares erased all but a fraction of their 2017 gains as investors sold off the banks for a second day, while political uncertainty sparked turbulence in currencies.
Investors sent the pound soaring after UK Prime Minister Theresa May provided some clarity around how Britain might extract itself from the European Union and the US dollar slumped after Donald Trump labelled the greenback "too strong".
