Freight Train (fraighttrain.se)

It feels like coming home, but also as a great relief to initiate a genuine partnership with my old friends on Freight Train. As my time becomes more constrained and limited, and many are caught in between and gets frustrated that it can sometimes take time with getting an answer from me. This feels like a fun, natural and obvious step in this label's development.
The founders of Freight Train has been involved in the scene since the early 90s, like myself. We have had to do with each other in one way or another since the late 90's. We share the same basic values and have basically the same principles. That's the most important to me.

Kind of celebrating 10 years...

Almost forgot, we are kind of celebrating 10 years this month/year. It was back at the Skitliv! fanzine era and we included a bonus CD-R with Warvictims in some crustmast issue. In the autumn of the following year we got more serious about the 'label-thing' and released our first load of vinyls. So one could also say that it really was the year after that everything started. Körde förbi ditt hus i söndagskväll och tände ett ljus. Fönstret där vi brukade sitta vid det lilla köksbordet för två och dricka pulverkaffe och lyssna på bra obskyr musik gapade som ett stort svart hål. Så jävla overkligt att ta in.

Även om jag bara skulle svänga förbi en snabbis och hämta eller lämna någonting åt dig så vart jag alltid kvar i timmar. Du berättade ivrigt och passionerat om dina senaste skivinköp. Du visade stolt upp alla olika versioner du kommit över. Allt från färgnyanser på omslag/vinyl, material på iläggsblad till andra pressar på olika bolag. Du kunde spela upp, enligt mitt tycke, en hel del sjukt dåligt musik, men du introducerade mig även för en massa nya intressanta saker jag aldrig annars skulle hört eller hittat. Vi hann så klar med en och annan klassiker mellan varven också. Det vart mycket musik och skivnörderi när man var på besök hos dig.

Vi gav och tog av varandras åsikter, högt och lågt, och jag kunde alltid va öppen och ärlig i våra dialoger. Jag behövde aldrig bära någon mask i din närvaro, därför vart det avslappnat och naturligt när vi sågs. Det vart så klart mycket mörker och människoförakt genom en cynisk världsåskådning i våra samtal. Men vi kunde även halka in på ämnen som lagstiftningar, Haglöfs jackor, konst (såklart) och om hur man med åldern skiter i cred och hur man mer och mer känner att man inte längre har något att bevisa eller leva upp till. Jag uppskattade verkligen ditt sällskap även om det vart glest mellan gångerna. "Upptagen" och idiot som man är.

I have not had, and will not have, time to go through all of my stuff and my distro within the next week (most likely month). A short reminder. D&R is operated as time permits! Expect no response or deliveries within 24h. This is, and will always be, a DIY label run with love and true passion for punk. I have a full time job, a family to support and several bands who also occupy my time.
Only five years ago, I had basically just myself to think about. Time changes. Therefore, you may have to wait a while for a response. As you may have noticed. I don't check my email on daily basis either, which also is another contributing factor. No stress. Listen to music, read a book, go hiking and enjoy life meanwhile waiting. Sometimes things take time, and most of the time, it's totally worth the wait.

I value time more than money, any day, and I've always had my own and primitive ways to manage and handle things (yes, still no paypal etc). They are not always as commercial focusing on digital promotion, attention and sales. I've done this for so many years now so I've lost count. JÆNG is a band that I have found in recent days. One of the best bands I've heard in a long time.


Bands who worship Disclose as much as me, if not even more, can not be bad. Loud-Raw-Assault!


Q: Finland early 80s? A: No, Oakland's finest 2016. Released a 4-track 7" like six month ago that's definitely worth checking out.
A band gone a bit under the radar the past year, at least in Europe. Intense, raw and vicious L.A. hardcore punk.


Always! Few bands manage to make such a complete album.

USA, the strongest scene and the best bands in 2016? If you ask me I would undoubtedly say hell yes.
