8 December 2008 - SBS's compelling police drama East West 101 won the Australian Film
Institute Award for Best Telefeature, Mini-Series or Short-run Series
over the weekend.
13 October 2008 - SBS today released a summary of its Triennial Funding Submission which
makes the case to the Australian Government for an increase in funding
over the 2009-2012 triennium to deliver more and better services to

25 July 2008 - Dateline journalist Sophie McNeill was last night named the Young
Australian Journalist of the Year at the inaugural awards ceremony, an
initiative of the Walkley Foundation and the Media Entertainment and
Arts Alliance.
June 2008 - SBS and Film Australia on behalf of Screen Australia today announced
plans to develop an ambitious cross-platform documentary series that
will examine the stories of multicultural Australia through the prism
of immigration policies of the 20th and 21st Centuries.
7 May 2008 - A new look SBS brand expression was unveiled across all SBS platforms today. A contemporary new expression for the national broadcaster, the rebrand
includes a new logo, a new tagline and a new look, sound and feel for
SBS's presence across television, radio, online as well as its
corporate identity. Elements of the new brand expression will continue
to be revealed to audiences for the rest of the week.
