Microsoft Windows (or simply Windows) is a metafamily of graphical operating systems developed, marketed, and sold by Microsoft. It consists of several families of operating systems, each of which cater to a certain sector of the computing industry. Active Windows families include Windows NT, Windows Embedded and Windows Phone; these may encompass subfamilies, e.g. Windows Embedded Compact (Windows CE) or Windows Server. Defunct Windows families include Windows 9x and Windows Mobile.
Microsoft introduced an operating environment named Windows on November 20, 1985, as a graphical operating system shell for MS-DOS in response to the growing interest in graphical user interfaces (GUIs). Microsoft Windows came to dominate the world's personal computer market with over 90% market share, overtaking Mac OS, which had been introduced in 1984. However, since 2012, because of the massive growth of smartphones, Windows sells less than Android, which became the most popular operating system in 2014, when counting all of the computing platforms each operating system runs on; in 2014, the number of Windows devices sold were less than 25% of Android devices sold. However, comparisons across different markets are not fully relevant; and for personal computers, Windows is still the most popular operating system.
Windows 10 is a personal computer operating system released by Microsoft as part of the Windows NT family of operating systems. It was officially unveiled in September 2014 following a brief demo at Build 2014. The first version of the operating system entered a public beta testing process in October 2014, leading up to its consumer release on July 29, 2015, and its release to volume licensing on August 1, 2015. To encourage the adoption of Windows 10, Microsoft announced that during its first year of availability, upgrades to the operating system would be made available free of charge to users of genuine copies of eligible editions of Windows 7, and Windows 8 after update to Windows 8.1.
Windows 10 introduces what Microsoft described as a "universal" application architecture; expanding on Metro-style apps, these apps can be designed to run across multiple Microsoft product families with nearly identical code—including PCs, tablets, smartphones, embedded systems, Xbox One, Surface Hub and HoloLens. The Windows user interface was revised to handle transitions between a mouse-oriented interface and a touchscreen-optimized interface based on available input devices—particularly on 2-in-1 PCs; both interfaces include an updated Start menu that blends elements of Windows 7's traditional Start menu with the tiles of Windows 8. The first release of Windows 10 also introduces a virtual desktop system, a window and desktop management feature called Task View, the Microsoft Edge web browser, support for fingerprint and face recognition login, new security features for enterprise environments, and DirectX 12 and WDDM 2.0 to improve the operating system's graphics capabilities for games.
Windows XP (stylised as Windowsxp; codenamed Whistler) is a personal computer operating system that was produced by Microsoft as part of the Windows NT family of operating systems. The operating system was released to manufacturing on August 24, 2001, and generally released for retail sale on October 25, 2001.
Development of Windows XP began in the late 1990s as "Neptune", an operating system built on the Windows NT kernel which was intended specifically for mainstream consumer use—an updated version of Windows 2000 was also originally planned for the business market. However, in January 2000, both projects were shelved in favor of a single OS codenamed "Whistler", which would serve as a single OS platform for both consumer and business markets. Windows XP was a major advance from the MS-DOS based versions of Windows in security, stability and efficiency due to its use of Windows NT underpinnings. It introduced a significantly redesigned graphical user interface and was the first version of Windows to use product activation in an effort to reduce its copyright infringement.
Windows 1.0 is a graphical personal computer operating environment developed by Microsoft. Microsoft had worked with Apple Computer to develop applications for Apple's January 1984 original Macintosh, the first mass-produced personal computer with a graphical user interface.
Windows 1.0 was released on November 20, 1985, as the first version of the Microsoft Windows line. It runs as a graphical, 16-bit multi-tasking shell on top of an existing MS-DOS installation, providing an environment which can run graphical programs designed for Windows, as well as existing MS-DOS software. Its development was spearheaded by the company founder, Bill Gates, after seeing a demo of a similar software suite known as Visi On at COMDEX.
Despite positive responses to its early presentations and support from a number of hardware and software makers, Windows 1.0 was received poorly by critics, who felt it did not meet their expectations. In particular, they felt that Windows 1.0 put too much emphasis on mouse input at a time when mouse use was not yet widespread; not providing enough resources for new users; and for suffering from performance issues, especially on systems with lower hardware specifications. Despite this criticism, Windows 1.0 proved to be an important milestone for Microsoft, and in computer history in general. Windows 1.0 was officially declared obsolete and unsupported by Microsoft on December 31, 2001.
Michaela "Mickey" Shiloh (born January 25, 1992) is an American songwriter and recording artist. Shiloh was signed as an artist and songwriter to Rodney "Darkchild" Jerkins from 2009 until 2011 and has written songs for artists such as Janet Jackson, Pitbull, Britney Spears, and Jennifer Lopez.
Michaela "Mickey" Shiloh is a multi-platinum songwriter and artist. Born in San Mateo, California to teenage parents, she was constantly surrounded by hip-hop throughout her childhood. Following in the footsteps of her father, an aspiring rapper, Mickey began writing her own raps at the age of 8. By 15, she had taught herself to record and mix her own songs and signed her first publishing deal to multi-platinum producer Chad Beatz of Tastemaker Music. Mickey worked with Chad for two years and got her first major placement with rap artist Twista. During the summer before her junior year of high school, Mickey was introduced to Grammy Award-winning producer Rodney "Darkchild" Jerkins through fellow artist and friend, Jon Asher. At 17 she signed to Jerkins and landed her first number one (on the Billboard Dance Charts) with Janet Jackson's "Make Me". After graduating high school Mickey moved to Los Angeles and worked with major artists like Jennifer Lopez, Shontelle, Britney Spears, Pitbull (rapper), Ray J and many others, all while attending the University of Southern California. During this time she also wrote songs for the soundtrack of the Nickelodeon movie Rags (film) and released her first mixtape, Dear Future. After becoming overwhelmed by the reality of balancing school and a music career, Mickey took a leave of absence from USC during her sophomore year and returned to the Bay Area for 8 months. In the spring of 2012, Mickey moved back to Los Angeles newly inspired and has since continued her songwriting and artistry full-time.

Yeah, oh
You count every word I say
Over again you might find a way
Seven verses to magnify
Drop the feathers you will never fly
Tapestries of black and gold they're crying
Looking through the windows I am watching you
You as you go by
Turn on a wave of fire
Your pale skin cant turn any whiter
Grab a wheel sing a bitter tune
Never stops to forget you've seen
(repeat chorus)
Walk along a lonely mile
Saw a bird falling at my feet
Crawling like a wounded child
Moving farther out of reach
Don't wanna be alone, no
Come on, come on, come on
You count every word I say
Over again you could find a way
Seven verses to magnify
Drop the feathers you will never fly
