Australian Idol runner-up Shannon Noll is arrested and charged with assault outside the Crazy Horse strip club in Adelaide.

The Australian Idol runner-up had performed at a concert with John Farnham and Daryl Braithwaite earlier in the evening in Mannum, an hour east of Adelaide.

"He got really aggressive and being like 'I'm Shannon Noll, let me back into the Crazy Horse'," Longmuir told Channel 9.

"Then he punched a security guard and four policemen like pinned him down."
