The original Columbia Restaurant, located in the historic Ybor City neighborhood in Tampa, Florida, is the oldest continuously operated restaurant in Florida, the oldest Spanish restaurant in the United States and one of the largest Spanish restaurants in the world with 1,700 seats in 15 dining rooms taking up 52,000 ft² over an entire city block. Founded in 1905 in, the landmark is still owned by the Hernandez/Gonzmart family and serves Spanish and Cuban cuisine.
In June 2009, the Columbia Restaurant was selected as one of the 25 iconic restaurants of the Tampa-St.Petersburg area by Laura Reily, the food critic of the St. Petersburg Times. Also Nation's Restaurant News named it a "Top 50 All-American icon."
The restaurant's wine list contains more than 1,056 wines with an inventory exceeding 50,000 bottles, and Columbia has won several awards for their Spanish wines. They feature several private label wines that were created to honor the memory of family members, and the popular house Sangria is mixed tableside.
Ybor City (/ˈiːbɔːr/ EE-bor) is a historic neighborhood in Tampa, Florida located just northeast of downtown. It was founded in the 1880s by cigar manufacturers and was populated by thousands of immigrants, mainly from Cuba, Spain and Italy. For the next 50 years, workers in Ybor City's cigar factories rolled millions of cigars annually.
The neighborhood had features unusual among contemporary immigrant communities in the southern United States, most notably its multi-ethnic and multi-racial population and their many mutual aid societies. A slow exodus out of the area that began during the Great Depression accelerated after World War II, leading to a period of abandonment and decay. After decades of neglect, a portion of the original neighborhood has redeveloped into a night club and entertainment district.
The neighborhood has been designated as a National Historic Landmark District, and several structures in the area are listed in the National Register of Historic Places. In 2008, 7th Avenue, the main commercial thoroughfare in Ybor City, was recognized as one of the “10 Great Streets in America” by the American Planning Association. In 2010 Columbia Restaurant was named a "Top 50 All-American icon" by Nation's Restaurant News magazine.

The Chew is an American cooking-themed talk show that airs on ABC as part of the network's weekday daytime lineup. The name and format was inspired by fellow ABC talk show, The View, but The Chew centers on food-related and lifestyle topics rather than celebrity news.
The program also airs in Canada on City. A limited number of ABC affiliates in the Central Time Zone, where it airs with the East at 1 p.m. ET/noon Central, air the program on a one-day delay (maintaining the delay schedule All My Children followed before it was ended; this delays the Friday episode to Monday) in order to continue airing their noon hour local newscasts such as KSAT-TV in San Antonio, WFAA in Dallas, KRGV-TV in Weslaco, Texas and WBRZ-TV in Baton Rouge, Louisiana; two stations, WBAY-TV in Green Bay, Wisconsin and KMIZ in Columbia, Missouri, received permission to tape-delay the program for the 2015-16 season to avert situations where episodes with recipes timed to a specific holiday were rendered useless due to the delay.
A restaurant (/ˈrɛstərənt/ or /ˈrɛstərɒnt/; French: [ʀɛs.to.ʁɑ̃]) is a business which prepares and serves food and drinks to customers in exchange for money, either paid before the meal, after the meal, or with an open account. Meals are generally served and eaten on the premises, but many restaurants also offer take-out and food delivery services, and some only offer take-out and delivery. Restaurants vary greatly in appearance and offerings, including a wide variety of cuisines and service models ranging from inexpensive fast food restaurants and cafeterias to mid-priced family restaurants, to high-priced luxury establishments. In Western countries, most mid- to high-range restaurants serve alcoholic beverages such as beer and wine. Some restaurants serve all the major meals, such as breakfast, lunch and dinner (e.g., major fast food chains, diners, hotel restaurants, and airport restaurants). Other restaurants may only serve a single meal (e.g., a pancake house may only serve breakfast) or they may serve two meals (e.g., lunch and dinner).

Florida's oldest restaurant, the 108-year-old Columbia in Tampa's historic Ybor City, was featured on "The Chew." The Chew's correspondent, chef Jason Roberts, came to Columbia Ybor City in September 2013 to interview fifth generation family member Andrea Gonzmart of The Columbia. She welcomed chef Roberts with a tour of her family's 52,000 square foot restaurant, with 15 dining rooms and seating for 1,700. Gonzmart then took chef Roberts through the process to make Columbia's Original Cuban Sandwich, using the 1915 recipe of Columbia's founder, her great-great-grandfather, Casimiro Hernandez Sr. In April 2012, the "Historic Tampa Cuban Sandwich" was named the "Signature Sandwich of the City of Tampa" by Tampa's City Council. In this travel video tour of Portland, Oregon, I travel to Portland, one of the most unique cities in the United States. I started my trip off by hopping off a plane and then immediately hopping onto a bus. But not just any bus, a bus operated by Brewvana Brewery Tours, the mostly women-run craft beer brewery tour company. Portland, or know as Beervana to some, is home to 55 breweries within its borders, and is truly a beer-lover's paradise. On my tour we made stops at Rogue Ales & Spirits, Laurelwood Pubic House & Brewery, Widmer Brothers Brewery and Sidecar Bar, where I had the chance to sit down over a pint with the founder and owner of Brewvana, Ashley Rose Salvitti. While in Portland, I stayed at the Tiny House Hotel, a hotel made up of, you guessed it, tiny houses. In the next po...

Today, we are enjoying lunch in one of my very favorite corners of Magic Kingdom — Columbia Harbour House! Without knowing better, you may be tempted to pass right by this quick service spot, thinking that it’s a garden variety bastion of fried food. But while there are some battered options here, you’ll also find some lighter fare that’s worth a closer look. (Actually, I think the fried stuff is pretty rad, too.)
