Twitter is absolutely beside itself after news broke of an intel report claiming Donald Trump has engaged in multiple "compromising" and "salacious" sexual acts – the most explosive of which sparked the hashtag #GoldenShowers which is now trending worldwide.
The report has apparently been circulating among politicians, intelligence officers and journalists for weeks, according to BuzzFeed, who published the dossier in full this morning despite admitting "the allegations are unverified, and the report contains errors".
Among its unsubstantiated claims is one that Trump hired a group of sex workers to perform "golden showers" in the presidential suite at the Moscow Ritz Carlton where he knew President Barack Obama and his wife Michelle had stayed.
For the uninitiated, a "golden shower" is the act of urinating on another person for sexual gratification. In this case, the allegation is that the sex workers urinated over the bed the Obamas had slept on, while Trump watched.
Despite the veracity of the report being under question it hasn't stopped the jokes from er... flowing freely.
This gives a whole new meaning to trickle-down economics. #GoldenShowers

As some pointed out, the fact that people even find the report plausible says a lot about the sexist, womanising image Donald Trump has cultivated; particularly after the footage surfaced of him admitting to grabbing women "by the pussy" without their consent.
Of course the #goldenshowers story is, if not fake, probably impossible to verify. What is stunning is how plausible it seems to so many.

Of course, once the jokes die down, the very serious question remains: how many more allegations of sexual misconduct will surface before Donald Trump's presidency crumbles under their weight – given it hasn't even yet begun?
