Philadelphia (/ˌfɪləˈdɛlfiə/) is the largest city in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and the fifth-most-populous in the United States, with an estimated population in 2014 of 1,560,297. In the Northeastern United States, at the confluence of the Delaware and Schuylkill River, Philadelphia is the economic and cultural anchor of the Delaware Valley, a metropolitan area home to 7.2 million people and the eighth-largest combined statistical area in the United States.
In 1682, William Penn founded the city to serve as capital of the Pennsylvania Colony. Philadelphia played an instrumental role in the American Revolution as a meeting place for the Founding Fathers of the United States, who signed the Declaration of Independence in 1776 and the Constitution in 1787. Philadelphia was one of the nation's capitals in the Revolutionary War, and served as temporary U.S. capital while Washington, D.C., was under construction. In the 19th century, Philadelphia became a major industrial center and railroad hub that grew from an influx of European immigrants. It became a prime destination for African-Americans in the Great Migration and surpassed two million occupants by 1950.

The Reading Terminal (/ˈrɛdɪŋ/ RED-ing) is a complex of buildings and former railroad station located in the Market East section of Center City in the city of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, United States. It is composed of three parts: the Reading Terminal Headhouse, the Reading Terminal Trainshed, and the Reading Terminal Market (beneath the trainshed).
In 1889, the Reading Railroad decided to build a train depot, passenger station, and company headquarters on the corner of 12th and Market Streets. The move came eight years after the Pennsylvania Railroad opened its Broad Street Station several blocks away at 15th and Market Streets, and one year after the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad opened its 24th Street Station at 24th and Chestnut Streets.
The chosen location was occupied by an open-air market that had been in continuous operation since 1853. After loud complaints and much negotiation, the railroad agreed to purchase the markets for $1 million and move them to a new structure: the Reading Terminal Market, located to the rear (north) of the headhouse at 12th and Filbert Streets. This required the trainshed and all of its tracks to be constructed one story above street level, with the Reading Viaduct to bring trains in and out.

Here's what he played: Froggy has been on roll lately and is proving himself as one of the top Virginia players after getting 17th at ARG Raleigh, going undefeated in swiss (Top 8) and in the 1k at ARG Atlantic City, and now topping this Philly regional again! And this is just in the past month, he's accumulated multiple regional and premiere tops in 2017. He's not just a good player though, he's also an innovator. He's known for going against the grain and playing different and creative decks, usually containing frogs lol. "You're playing this? Swann Memorial Fountain, a fountain sculpture designed by Alexander Stirling Calder, framed by Paulownia trees in Logan Circle. Built in 1924, in what was Logan Square where Great Sanitary Fair was held in 1864. Also know as Fountain of the Three Rivers; figures represent Wissahickon, Schuylkill, and Delaware River.
How much do you know about the history of Logan Square in Center City Philadelphia? Each spring, the blossoming of the Paulownia trees in Logan Square transforms the landscaped traffic circle into one of the most scenic sites in Philadelphia. By the summertime, students at Hallahan Catholic Girls High School will slip into the Swann Memorial Fountain to mark the end of the school year. Others looking to cool off on a muggy day will do likewise. Yet, Logan Square was not always so sunny. Its history, as rich and diverse as any of founder William Penn's original squares, includes public executions, burial grounds and revamped neighborhoods. Originally known as Northwest Square, its history also includes visits by a pair of popes and one of the most famous American presidents. Alongside...

Although it may not seem like it, it has been a long time since I needed to enlist The Car Key Shop Locksmith in Philadelphia, though it's good to know that they're still around. After I first called these guys around 5 years ago, they didn't feature a website, and thus were pretty much presenting flyers at the auto public sale. They've progressed massively ever since then, so it was by total coincidence that I stumbled upon their services once more. Now a days they already have a website and everything: http://www.carkeylocksmithphiladelphia.com. In any case, I tried the reselling cars routine, but it surely merely wasn't in my favor. When it came to reselling vehicles, for me, there are a high number of aspects that determined the final result of your own sale. Xmas season had arrived, a...

Take a tour of some of the most historic buildings of America. Historic Philadelphia is where the Founding Fathers laid the groundwork for the creation of America. Not only is the city packed with sites that commemorate what they did, but you can visit the places where they actually lived and worked. Let's start with Declaration House on Seventh and Market Street. Thomas Jefferson lived here during the time he wrote the Declaration of Independence. He wrote the document in three weeks. The Liberty Bell, right here on Sixth Street, is perhaps Philadelphia's most famous attraction. On July 8th, 1776, it was rung to commemorate the hearing of the Declaration of Independence. The Bell weighs 2,000 pounds, which may not be apparent by looking at it. It was cracked in 1846, and has not be...

I haven't visited historic Philadelphia, the birthplace of America, since I was a kid but this time I brought along my youngest niece. If you love American history, this is a must-do trip. One of the great things about visiting historic Philadelphia is that all of the main attractions are within easy walking distance of each other. We visited Independence Hall (my favorite because the Declaration of Independence and U.S. Constitution were signed here), the Liberty Bell, Benjamin Franklin's Grave in Christ Church Burial Ground, the Philadelphia Mint (my niece's favorite because you can see the coins being minted), the President's House (America's first White House), the National Constitution Center (where original copies of the U.S. Constitution and Bill of Rights are held), the Betsy Ross...

Spotting at Philadelphia International Airport Philadelphia International Airport Philadelphia, Pennsylvania Sunday December 10, 2017 http://www.zingeraviation.com This video covers most of the morning at Philadelphia International Airport, with a heavy emphasis on departures from Runway 27L, shot between 9:00 am and 11:45 am. The morning started out clear with a fantastic amount of reflection from the snow on the ground - Philadelphia and the region received anywhere from four to seven inches of snow on December 9. There are a few surprises in this video, and this also includes nearly all of the military aircraft that was in town for the Army Navy Game (I was unable to film the UH-60 Blackhawk departing). Tuesday at the Pennsylvania Conference for Women, former first lady Michelle Obama said when she attended the State of the Union address she would notice the Republican side was “all men, all white,” and that was why she argued many people of color “don’t trust politics.” Speaking about diversity, Obama said, “We should be working actively to mix it up, so we’re getting a real broad range of perspectives on every issue. Shoot, I would see that in Congress.” She explained, “At the State of the Union address … when you are in the room what you can see is this real dichotomy. It’s a feeling of color almost. On one side of the room is literally gray and white. Literally, that is the color palette on one side of the room. On the other side of the room, there are yellows and blues and whites a...
This video report will show and discuss new observations made in the city of Philadelphia, centered around Logan's Square, where the Catholic Basilica for Saints Peter and Paul is located. Because of my current and ongoing observations into the 9th Circle Ritual Cult, I have recently learned, that Pope Francis will give a special Mass from this historic church, the first Catholic Church built in the USA, on Sept. 26, 2015, when Pope Francis begins his visit to Philadelphia. There exists a geographic area of land that has been landscaped to show us from above, a sword, that begins from the Philadelphia Museum of Art, which to me is the handle and goes to all the way to JFK Plaza, which appears to be the tip of the sword. The center of the sword geographically appears as a sunburst of 6 r...

WPVI-TV, 6ABC Philadelphia Presents "Fever - 1793" ---- With a population of approximately 55,000 in 1793, Philadelphia was America's largest city, its capital and its busiest port. The summer of that year was unusually dry and hot. The water levels of streams and wells were dangerously reduced, providing an excellent breeding ground for insects. By July the city's inhabitants were remarking on the extraordinary number of flies and mosquitoes that swarmed around the dock area. That same month, a trickle of refugees escaping political turmoil in the Caribbean Islands became a torrent of thousands as ship after ship unloaded its human cargo on Philadelphia's docks. Unbeknownst to the city's inhabitants, all the necessary ingredients for an unprecedented health disaster were now in place. Wi...
