New Orleans (/nuː ˈɔːrlɪnz/,/nuː ˈɔːrliənz/, /nuː ɔːrˈliːnz/, or /ˈnɔːrlənz/; French: La Nouvelle-Orléans [la nuvɛlɔʁleɑ̃]) is a major United States port and the largest city and the center of the metropolitan area in the state of Louisiana. The population of the city was 343,829 as of the 2010 U.S. Census. The New Orleans metropolitan area (New Orleans–Metairie–Kenner Metropolitan Statistical Area) had a population of 1,167,764 in 2010 and was the 46th largest in the United States. The New Orleans–Metairie–Bogalusa Combined Statistical Area, a larger trading area, had a 2010 population of 1,452,502.
The city is named after the Duke of Orleans, who reigned as Regent for Louis XV from 1715 to 1723, as it was established by French colonists and strongly influenced by their European culture. It is well known for its distinct French and Spanish Creole architecture, as well as its cross-cultural and multilingual heritage. New Orleans is also famous for its cuisine, music (particularly as the birthplace of jazz), and its annual celebrations and festivals, most notably Mardi Gras, dating to French colonial times. The city is often referred to as the "most unique" in the United States.

Now I've come to the islands to escape what's insane
Mean while everyone smilin' even if it rains
And there's many words for just one state
In Hawaiian, Portuguese, n' Japanese n' local way
Then you meet these happy people and you hear them
speak
It may sound like somethin' simple but it really is
unique
So hey bra' what's da kine (what's da kine)
Its the words you use all the time
As simple as saimin
Its a word that means just about everything
When da kine (now's da kine)
Who da kine (you da kine)
What da kine (I don't know)
Where da kine
Da kine is da kine and that's da kine
Its that word that's on your mind
For its hey hey hey
These are Hawaiians, hey hey hey
There no one is da kine, hey hey hey
When it comes today, hey hey hey
A small da kine way
So here we are in the best of all nations
Where the back of our sause gave our world a
destination
And here you'll learn to talk story with a special word
In between the pigeon and for what da kine is what we
serve
Hey bra' what's da kine (what's da kine)
Its the word you use all the time
As simple as saimin
Its a word that means just about everything
When da kine (now's da kine)
Who da kine (I'm da kine)

For its hey hey hey
These are Hawaiians, hey hey hey
There no one is da kine, hey hey hey
When it comes today, hey hey hey
A small da kine way
And in my world I like a mixed plate
Gonna coconut while its about where they stay
Well you'll never know about this
Until one local say and what he says this
Hey bra' what's da kine (when's da kine)
Its a word we use all the time
Hey bra' what's da kine (who's da kine)
Its a word we use all the time
Hey bra' what's da kine (what's da kine)
