South Australia is home to hundreds of recreational trails in locations all over the State.

To help you discover the best we've identified six of our 'top trails', ranging from the Heysen Trail, named after famous Australian artist, Sir Hans Heysen, to the Riesling Trail, which winds its way through South Australia's Clare Valley wine region.

If you're a new trail user you'll find our 'top trails' are a great way to explore South Australia. And if you're a veteran trail-blazer you're sure to enjoy rediscovering them.

Because some of the 'top trails' are long – up to 1,500 kilometres – we've also listed some of their most popular sections. You can find out more about these by doing a search on that particular section. There's also a downloadable PDF file on each trail, as well as links to specific trail sites for more detailed information.
