Brisbane traffic: Man dies after being hit by truck on Logan Motorway at Drewvale

A truck driver has died after he exited his vehicle on the Logan Motorway and was hit by another truck.

The 34-year-old Lowood man had pulled over and exited his truck when he was hit  about 12.40pm on Tuesday, Queensland Police said.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene and the driver of the truck that hit the man was assisting police.

The motorway was closed for about three hours as police assessed the scene.

A serious accident on the Logan motorway has led police to close the road off from Compton Road.

Paramedics were called at 12.38pm to the incident near Drewvale, where there have been reports of one man dead.

Police have advised motorists to avoid the Gateway extension seek alternative routes.
