Police hunt man who racially abused bus driver, spat in his face

Police are hunting a man who spat at and racially abused a bus driver in Scarborough in December.

The incident happened on December 13 at about 12.35pm.

Police allege the man spat at and racially abused the bus driver

The driver was en route from Scarborough Beach to Stirling on the 421 Transperth bus

The bus driver was on the 421 Route from Scarborough Beach to Stirling.

Police say he stopped the bus opposite a cafe at the bottom of Scarborough Beach Road and saw a man waiting for the bus acting in a disorderly manner.

The man then got onto a bus, but told the driver he had no money to buy a ticket.  The driver then asked to him to leave.   

The man then spat at the driver's face and became racially abusive towards him before leaving the scene.

Police will release CCTV footage of the man they wish to speak to.
