Evie Amati, 24, has been arrested and charged over the attack.

Vision from the service station's CCTV camera shows the alleged assailant was in the service station for just over a minute before the attack, which took seconds to carry out.

Sharon Hacker, 43, was about to buy milk at the service station when the attacker, who police allege was Ms Amati, entered.

Benjamin Rimmer, 32, was standing nearby.

The service station's CCTV shows Ms Hacker walking up to the register at 2.19am, as a woman walks in holding an axe.

At first, the woman holds the tool loosely by her side. As she walks in, she briefly grips it with both hands in front of her torso, before holding it again by her side as she walks up one of the convenience store's aisles.

She disappears from the camera's view for 23 seconds. When she reappears, she walks back towards the register and stands close to Mr Rimmer, speaking to him.

As she steps towards him, the camera captures a kitchen knife in her back left pocket.

The pair briefly chat as Ms Hacker begins to pack her purchase into a bag. As she turns to the door, Mr Rimmer steps towards the counter.

Then - exactly 61 seconds after entering the store - the woman brings the axe back and hits Mr Rimmer in the face.

He stumbles backwards, falling to the ground, as the woman brings the axe back and hits Ms Hacker in the back of the head as she rummages through her bag at the shop's door.

The 43-year-old falls through the door to the ground outside. As she hits the ground, the woman hits her with the axe again and leaves.

A total of one minute and six seconds had elapsed from the time the woman walked into the store to the time she walked away, her two victims on the ground.

As she leaves, Mr Rimmer holds his hand to his face and stands up, leaving a trail of blood on the ground. Ms Hacker also attempts to stand.

Police allege the trio were not known to each other.

Officers allegedly found Evie Amati nearby, with an axe in her possession, and arrested her.

She was charged at Kings Cross Police Station with wound person with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and cause grievous bodily harm to person with intent.

Ms Amati did not apply for bail at Parramatta Bail Court on Sunday and it was formally refused. She will face court again on Thursday.
