Arthur Herbert Fonzarelli (also known as "Fonzie" or "The Fonz") is a fictional character played by Henry Winkler in the American sitcom Happy Days (1974–1984). He was originally a secondary character, but was soon positioned as a lead character when he began surpassing the other characters in popularity.
Happy Days producer and writer Bob Brunner created both Arthur Fonzarelli's "Fonzie" nickname and his iconic comeback phrase, "Sit on it."
In 1999 TV Guide ranked him number 4 on its 50 Greatest TV Characters of All Time list.
Fonzie first appeared in the first episode of Season 1 and was one of only two characters (along with Howard Cunningham) to appear in all 255 episodes.
Happy Days is an American television sitcom that aired first-run from January 15, 1974, to September 24, 1984, on ABC. The show was originally based on a segment from ABC's Love, American Style titled Love and the Television Set, (later retitled Love and the Happy Days for syndication) featuring Ron Howard and three future cast members.
Created by Garry Marshall, the series presents an idealized vision of life in the mid-1950s to mid-1960s United States.
The series was produced by Miller-Milkis Productions (Miller-Milkis-Boyett Productions in later years) and Henderson Productions in association with Paramount Television. Happy Days was one of the highest-rated shows of the 1970s.

Tribute to Arthur Fonzarelli, a.k.a. The Fonz
I wanna try your shoes on And wear them for a day Learn to talk like you do And say what I see I'd talk like I knew something That everyone wanted to hear But you're the fonz The definition of icy The measure of what's up You could play the tuba And everyone would clap Well I can play the tuba And they all just shake their heads Cause you're the fonz I know its over for me I know its over Drove my car to the floor And stood at the edge When I woke up in heaven Looked down and no one cared But when you pulled your own trigger They all gathered around to watch Cause you're the fonz
The fonz Eyy from happy days
An early episode from about 1974-75 with an appearance from Herbie Faye (sgt Bilko Fame) and Manuel Padilla Jnr(Jai on Tarzan). I think I taped this around 1988 on Central TV and didn't get a good picture at the time.

As the Fonz on the classic TV comedy "Happy Days," Henry Winkler played America's most famous teenager. A little-known fact about Winkler is that he was dyslexic - so dyslexic he could barely read. Now at 71, Winkler is co-creator of a popular series of children's books featuring a fourth-grader who similarly has trouble reading. Mo Rocca talks with Henry Winkler and his wife, Stacey, and also joins them in a pastime that has got them both hooked: fly-fishing.

Well, that wasn't very nice of you
Things aren't so glossy
Without a posse
Oh deary dear
I've no business being here
Well now as I bow out
At the funeral of my youth
It was so lonely
It was so lovely
It was so lovely
You're so easy on the eye
You're so easy on the eye
We said farewell
And we synchronized our watches
And arranged for the meeting of our crotches
On the other side of the planet
On the other side of the world
Well, that wasn't a very nice thing to do
They never suspect the emotional wreck
Put that in your pipe
(You might want to write that down)
Yes sir, yes sir, three bags full
The Fonz said
There's nothing wrong with being wrong
But was he right, was he right?
I don't know, was he right?
You're so easy on the eye
You're so easy on the eye
We said farewell
And we synchronized our watches
And arranged for the meeting of our crotches
On the other side of the planet
