Dallas-Fort Worth offers some great free events for the kids for Halloween. Children will enjoy wearing imaginative costumes and trick-or-treating and playing the games and activities during these fall events. Following are the best free kids events in Dallas-Fort Worth in 2016.

Pumpkins on the Plaza
Oct. 22 @ 4 p.m.
Dallas City Hall Plaza — 1500 Marilla St., Dallas, TX 75201

Pumpkins on the Plaza is a family friendly Halloween carnival and Glow Plaza that includes several kid-friendly activities. The list of attractions includes a pumpkin patch, hayrides, story time, face painting, arts and crafts, music, interactive games and more. There will be food trucks on the plaza with food and refreshments available to purchase. When the sun goes down there will be a dance party with glow sticks.

Trick or Treat the Square
Oct. 30 @ 1 p.m.
Frisco Square — 8874 Coleman Blvd., Frisco, TX 75034

The 6th Annual Trick-or-Treat the Square is presented by Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children and is a kid and pet friendly event, so the whole family can enjoy the fun. Activities for the kids include a costume contest, petting zoo, face painters, balloon artists, horse drawn wagon rides and more. A pooch parade and costume contest  will also take place, along with a dog adoption event sponsored by Mazie’s Mission.

West 7th Halloween Boo Bash
Oct. 28 @ 5 p.m.
Crockett Square ‚ 816 Foch St., Fort Worth, TX 76107

Kids are welcome to trick-or-treat at participating restaurants and retail stores, which will be identified with black and orange balloons. Kids and adults are invited to enter the costume contest, which starts at 7 p.m. The age categories for the contest are 4 and under, 5-10, 11-18, and 18+ and costumes are asked to remain PG. Registration for the costume contest will be held at Crockett Square, where you can also get your parking ticket validated.

Trick or Treat Star Wars Day 
Oct. 29 @ 10 a.m.
Frontiers of Flight Museum — Dallas Love Field Airport: 6911 Lemmon Ave., Dallas, TX 75209

The Frontiers of Flight Museum will feature a special Trick or Treat Star Wars Day for attendees to feel the true force of Halloween. Kids will be able to spend the day with their favorite characters, like R2-D2, from the popular space franchise. All the kiddos in costume will be admitted into the museum for free. All visitors in costume are eligible to participate in the Red Carpet Costume Contest by registering at the front desk.
