The gown was designed in an intricate pattern of strips and panels, swishing down the floor-length dress and swirling into cascading lines.

One side of the Versace number was off-the-shoulder while the other began the stripped paneling which then continued throughout the remainder of the dress.

The sparkling black sections began to inject themselves into the design from the 46-year-old's waist downwards and filled out at the base of the gown which trailed behind the model on the red carpet.

The chunkier strips at the bottom of the dress gave way to a slit, which allowed a hint of one of Naomi's long legs to be teased.

The circular pattern regrouped at the side, as the stripped paneling gathered at Naomi's waist, proving yet another eye-catching feature to the dress.

The star let her glossy raven tresses trickle down past her shoulders, straightened to perfection.

The exotic beauty's look was competed with a splash of light pink on her pouty lips, matching the tone of the gown.

The Golden Globes ranks as the third most-watched annual awards show, behind only the Oscars and the Grammys.

The winners are chosen by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association and are known for springing surprises, its members have no say in choosing the Oscars.

The supermodel has been doing the rounds in LA during her time in the states, and has appeared on US TV to discuss current matters surrounding George Michael's untimely death and Kim Kardashian's Parisian robbery.

'I sympathise with [Kardashian] a lot,' she told talk show host Wendy Williams. 'In 2012 I was attacked in Paris. They followed me from the airport. They attacked me.

'They opened my car door and said, "Naomi Campbell, we're going to kill you!"'

Unlike Kardashian, Naomi kept the ins and outs of her ordeal out of the press, and has opted to remain private about what exactly took place.

But with the similarities between the two incidents - both being in Paris, both being with high-profile people, both involving death threats - Naomi clearly felt the desire to share.

Naomi also commented on the death of pop star George Michael, who was found deceased at his Oxfordshire home on Christmas Day.

Having famously appeared in Michael's iconic Freedom '90 video, Campbell revealed on Wednesday that she's still grieving for the star.

The London-born beauty told America's Loose Women-esque chat show The View: 'I’m very sad that he’s not here. Gone too soon.'
