Rogue One: A Star Wars Story continues to dominate the movie universe topping the box office for a fourth week with a $22 million haul

Rogue One: A Star Wars Story plundered the box office again at the weekend, grabbing $22 million to stay at No. 1 for a fourth week.

The intergalactic adventure just edged out NASA drama Hidden Figures, about pioneering African-American women in the early days of the American space program, which counted up $21.8 million in its second week.

With just $200,000 separating the two movies, the positions could reverse when final figures for weekend are released on Monday, according to Variety.

Holding on: Rogue One: A Star Wars Story topped the weekend for the fourth weekend, earning $22 million and taking its global haul to $914.4 million in less than a month

Rogue One's domestic total now stands at a stellar $477.3 million, making the eighth Star Wars movie the eighth-largest domestic grosser of all time, trailing Finding Dory by less than $10 million.

It also launched in China earning $31 million in its first weekend, pushing the international total to $437 million and Its worldwide take to an out-of-this-world $914.4 million in less than a month. 

Meanwhile, Hidden Figures, co-starring Taraji P. Henson, Octavia Spencer and Janelle Monae, is performing above recent $16 million to $18 million forecasts, and has counted up some $24.75 million stateside, almost recouping its $25 million budget.

And with Octavia up for a Golden Globe in the supporting actress category on Sunday, that can only help boost the film's box office chances.

Family animation Sing landed in third in its second weekend of release with $19.6 million, boosting its total take at home to $213.4 million and $356.8 million globally.

It features the voices of a stellar cast including Matthew McConaughey, Resse Witherspoon, Seth MacFarlane, Scarlett Johansson, John C. Reilly and Taron Egerton.

Underworld: Blood Wars is looking at a fourth-place finish with $13.1 million at home and $55.2 million globally.

It's the fifth movie in the franchise that kicked off in 2003 about the continuing war between the Vampires and the Lycans. 

Kate Beckinsale reprises her role as Vampire Selene, along with regulars Theo James and Charles Dance.

Song and dance musical La La Land, starring Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone, tapped $10 million in its fifth week on release to nab the fifth spot in the top 10. 

It now has a total gross of $51.6 million at home and $85 million globally.
