'I don't think I'm the only woman to use it that way': Dannii Minogue reveals she's had Botox during traumatic times in her life

She's been honest about her use of cosmetic enhancements in the past.

And now Dannii Minogue has revealed she has used Botox during traumatic times in her life to hide the signs.

The 47-year-old, who is a judge on new BBC talent show Let It Shine, said she believes many women undergo the cosmetic treatment as a ‘subconscious’ reaction to being unhappy.

She told the Daily Telegraph’s Stella magazine: ‘I don’t think I’m the only woman to use Botox that way.

‘Except a lot of times I think it might be a subconscious thing – that you don’t want people to see how you really feel.

‘But I’m genuinely happy now. I’m dog-tired because I’m a single mother and no one warns you how tiring having a super active little boy is. But life is good.’

She added: ‘And I’ve got fatter. I think having a little fat on your body is better than Botox in terms of looking good as you get older.’ 

 The singer and TV star also spoke out on motherhood in the candid interview, admitting it was her older sister and music icon Kylie, who 'always wanted kids and not her'.

The 45-year-old Australian beauty - who has been by her sibling's side at every twist and turn life has thrown at them - admitted it's 'a great sadness' that Kylie, 48, has given up hope for a family of her own, following her 2005 breast cancer battle.

Discussing life before her adorable son Ethan, the former X Factor judge revealed that her sister had natural maternal instincts which she was envious of.

Now a mother, Dannii explained that she loves to see her closest confidant with her darling boy.

She said: 'Growing up it was Kylie who always wanted kids and I never did, When my brother Brendan had his little boy (Charles, now 10) I hadn't a clue how to hold him. I remember being really impressed by Kylie because she just instinctively knew what to do.

Kylie has been decidedly honest in her omissions about her desires and difficulty to start a family of her own.

Most recently, the Spinning Around hitmaker admitted to The Sunday Times Magazine she has been forced to consider her 'options' when it comes to having children one day after she was diagnosed in 2005 with breast cancer, aged 37.

Despite winning her battle, she revealed that she has had to consider other paths to motherhood, having taken it for 'granted' but is 'crazy' about being an auntie to her three nephews.

Reflecting on the love her sister holds for Ethan, Dannii admitted the way she is with children is far more poignant now that she has given up hope of having her own brood

Speaking about what motherhood has done for her, Dannii gushed that her little boy - who she had with her British model ex Kris Smith -  is 'the real sunshine in my life'.

Completely transformed by her new role, Dannii left The X Factor Australia in 2016 to be there for her son's first year of primary school in Melbourne.

Now appearing on UK screens for BBC's new entertainment show Let It Shine, she admitted her commute works out better travelling to London rather than move to Sydney for four months for The X Factor so she can be there for her son.  

Meanwhile, the singer is happily loved-up with her music producer boyfriend Adrian Newman - who she has been seeing for two years.

The couple are notoriously private about their romance with the brunette beauty previously admitting to TV Week in 2015: 'I don't talk about Adrian because he's the most private person in the world.'
