Now silencing the critics, Sam Taylor-Johnson, 49, and husband Aaron, 26, looked very much in love as they attended The BAFTA Tea Party at Four Seasons Hotel in Los Angeles on Saturday night.

Making sure the spotlight was on her, the Fifty Shades of Grey director slipped into a plunging black midi dress that accentuated her ample assets as she walked onto the event's red carpet with her beau of eight years.

Sam's figure-flaunting cocktail dress featured flirty vibrant frill detail along her deep V neckline and stylishly sleeves.

Showcasing her hourglass curves, her wardrobe choice cinched in her waist as it grazed her thighs to paraded her toned pins as she posed for pictures with her love.

Sam injected some height into her petite frame as she adorned her feet in a pair of black sky-high heels, that took inspiration from 1940's Mary Jane court shoes.

Completing her red carpet ensemble, she draped a quilted statement red Chanel bag over her shoulder while she wrapped a simple silver necklace around her neck and placed large hoops into her ears.

Working her glossy golden locks into a deep side parting, she left her mane fall loosely down her shoulders into a relaxed curl as she applied a demure feline flick to her beauty look.

Film star Aaron looked dapper as ever in a charcoal grey suit which he teamed with a crisp white shirt and matching pocket square.

The British actor recently revealed he refused to go home to his wife and four daughters after filming his latest movie, Nocturnal Animals, because he couldn't shake his psychopath character.

Aaron, who plays Ray Marcus, told Access Hollywood: 'I was not going back home because I've got four girls and they did not need to see me in that kind of aura. I kept it very hard away from them.

'I dived pretty deep into this character and it wasn't a very pleasant one and so Sam kept her distance from me.'

The movie, which sees an art gallery owner haunted by her ex-husband's novel, also stars Isla Fisher, Amy Adams, and Jake Gyllenhaal and will open in America on 18 November.

Sam and Aaron began dating after meeting on the set of the 2009 film she directed - Nowhere Boy - when he was 19 and she was 42.

They tied the knot three years later in June 2012 in an intimate ceremony in Somerset.

The couple have two daughters, Wylda Rae, six, and Romy Hero, four, whilst Sam also has two daughters from her previous marriage to art dealer Jay Jopling.
